Bucknuts Morning 5: An Ohio State athletics podcast

Cue up Ohio State's "Across the Field" fight song. News broke on Thursday that non-conference football games have been canceled for the 2020 Big Ten season, and that the conference will play league-games only. How will this impact the Buckeyes and college football in general? Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle on today's show to talk about that and much more on the Friday 5ish.

Will Ohio State close it's 5-star quests successfully? What is wrong with Penn State recruiting in two major hotbeds? Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader? Can Pepper Johnson help turn an IMG lineman? All that and more as we welcome in 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong for his weekly appearance.

We have been adamant on the Bucknuts Morning 5 that having a winter/spring college football season is not a realistic option. However, the idea does seem to be picking up steam as a last-resort option. Could it really happen? Why or why not? Matt Baxendell joins Dave Biddle to discuss that, plus:

* Who are the three best head coaches in the Big Ten in order?

* Who are the three worst in order?

All of that and more is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish.

How many games will Ohio State play this season? Who was a better quarterback: Joe Germaine or J.T. Barrett? Can Trey Sermon eclipse the 1,500-rushing yards mark this season? Who will be Ohio State's starting quarterback in 2021? All great questions submitted via the Front Row.

Duane Long is here in his usual Tuesday slot to provide answers. Spend 5ish with us today, 'Nutters!

* How did OSU quarterback commitment Kyle McCord perform at the Elite 11? What can be taken away from it?

All of that and more is coming your way on the Friday 5ish.

Bucknuts took a close look at Ohio State's projected depth chart on both sides of the ball earlier this week. On today's show, Matt Baxendell joins Dave Biddle to give his take on the most interesting positional battles for the Buckeyes and what he thinks the depth chart will look like this year. Also on the agenda:

* Future OSU quarterback Kyle McCord is looking great at the Elite 11 camp. In fact, McCord won the "pro day competition" Tuesday night.

* What does Bax think about the idea of playing the coming college football season in late winter/early spring?

All that and more is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish.

Future Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord is in Nashville competing at the Elite 11. What are our expectations for the Class of 2021 5-star when he begins competing in Columbus? Duane Long is here to tackle that plus how McCord compares and fits in to the OSU QB plan alongside C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller.

The idea of playing the college football season in late winter/early spring of 2021 has been floated, but is that a legitimate option or complete nonsense? The Dean of Ohio State Football Recruiting, Bill Kurelic, joins Dave Biddle on today's show to discuss that, plus:

* What 2021 cornerbacks are the Buckeyes still in on?

* What is the latest with Ohio tight end Mitchell Evans?
