Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has proven to be good at a lot of things. At the top of the list might be his ability to evaluate quarterbacks. Day hand-picked 2021 quarterback recruit Kyle McCord very early in the process. In fact, Day turned away quarterback who were rated much higher than McCord, who committed to the Buckeyes last year. Since then, McCord has continued to rise up the rankings and is now a 5-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle for his usual Friday visit to discuss that, plus:
* What does JBook think about the OSU recruits who moved up and down in the recent 247Sports rankings?
* What is the latest with running back recruiting for the Buckeyes?
* Who will win the job at right tackle: Nicholas Petit-Frere or Dawand Jones?
All of that and more is coming your way on the Friday 5ish.
Can we do hyperbole here on the BM5? You betcha.
Ohio State is chasing two of the more dynamic running backs we've seen in years. Both are Class of 2021 prospects.
TreVeyon Henderson is Marshall Faulk ... but faster. Donovan Edwards is the second coming of Darren McFadden. Hyperbole much? Both have highlight videos loaded with jaw-dropping exploits. Both are seriously considering the Buckeyes.
247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong is here to talk Henderson-Edwards and the update to the 247Sports Composite.
This show is filled with enjoyable info about the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail. These days, there is a lot of that info!

Unlike in 2019, Ohio State will be the clear favorites in the Big Ten in 2020. (And yes, it is still funny the Buckeyes were picked third in their own division last year, but that is not the point here.) Which Big Ten team(s) will provide the biggest tests for Ohio State in 2020? The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle for today's show to discuss that, plus:
* Which true freshman will have the biggest impact for OSU this fall?
* Which returning players are not getting enough talk from the fans and media?
* Will we look back on the Mel Tucker hiring at Michigan State as a good one, or no?
All of that and more is on your way on the Wednesday 5ish.
Today, we take a trip into the future.
We know the College Football Playoff for the season ahead will include four teams and culminate with the CFP Title Game on Jan. 21, 2021 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
We don't yet know the four teams ... or do we?
Got an idea who will make it?
Duane Long and I do. We lay out which four teams we expect to have a chance to play for it all.
Hint: We don't agree on the four teams.

It is Presidents' Day and the Bank is open here at Bucknuts. Bill "Bank" Greene joins Dave Biddle for a wide-ranging show today which includes insights on:
* 2021 defensive line recruiting for Ohio State. Where does OSU stand with the 5-star DLs on their board?
* Will the Buckeyes tap into the transfer portal to find a defensive back or running back, or both?
* What is Bank's thoughts on Mel Tucker taking the Michigan State job? Will we look back on it as a good hire? What about the way Tucker left Colorado? Too much controversy surrounding that, or no?
* What is the latest on current Buckeye players Cade Stover, Tyreke Johnson and K'Vaughan Pope?
All of that and more is coming to you on the Monday 5ish.
Fans can be quick to write off players from time to time. Especially players who enter the program with high accolades and then barely see the field for their first two seasons.
However, Ohio State fans should absolutely not write off cornerback Tyreke Johnson, who will be a third-year sophomore this year.
Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle for his usual Friday visit to discuss the nation's former No. 1 corner recruit and why he might be coming of age.
Also on the docket:
* Defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs says he will coach from the field, not the press box.
* It is looking good for the Buckeyes in terms of the recruitment of the No. 1 defensive tackle prospect in the 2021 class, J.T. Tuimoloau.
* How long will D-line coach Larry Johnson be at OSU?
* What are JBook's thoughts on Mel Tucker getting the Michigan State job?
All of that and more is coming your way on the Friday 5ish.
Ohio State has developed a strong relationship with IMG Academy in Florida. With good reason. The school produces Division I players at a rapid pace. So there's that.
But the Buckeyes are also doing work in the talent-rich Peach State.
The Dean of Ohio State Recruiting - Bill Kurelic - is here to discuss that and how Ohio native Mel Tucker will fare in East Lansing.

Ohio State rising senior defensive backs Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint were arrested and charged with rape and kidnapping early Wednesday morning. They are in Franklin County jail and have been suspended from all football activities.
The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle for today's show to address that situation, plus:
* Is Cade Stover moving to tight end? If he does, what would we think about that?
* What does the depth look like for the Buckeyes at TE in 2020?
* If Stover is on the move, does that mean the staff feels good about redshirt freshman defensive end Noah Potter?
* What does the depth look like at DE for the Buckeyes this year?
* What does Bax think about the coaching search at Michigan State?
All of that and more is coming at you on the Wednesday 5ish.
The coaching carousel is spinning. At Michigan State, it's that spinning rainbow icon when your Internet page won't load fast enough. The message there: Still loading.
Luke Fickell opted against succeeding Mark Dantonio. Was that a good career move for the Bearcats' boss?
Duane Long is here to share his thoughts on the whole deal.
Also:
Should Ohio State be boning up on grunge music, fish tossing and Steve Largent? After a successful recruiting dip into the Seattle area during the Class of 2020 cycle, the Buckeyes aim to make an even bigger splash there in '21.
All that and more as we get Tuesday off and running.

What is the latest on the recruitment of running back Corey Kiner? What about the defensive tackles that Ohio State is pursuing in the 2021 class? How good will the Buckeyes' offensive line be in 2020? Or is the question, how great will that unit be? Will Demario McCall and/or Jaelen Gill step up for OSU this fall? Is Luke Fickell headed to Michigan State? Can the rebooted XFL make it? Bill "Bank" Greene joins Dave Biddle for the Monday 5ish to give insights on all of that.
