In recent comments, Jay-Z explains that police brutality is due to the absence of a father at home. I find this rhetoric to be extremely dangerous. Rather than blaming the alarming rates of police brutality against unarmed black men on the police who uses unnecessary aggressive force and their racial bias to act, Jay-Z puts the blame on the singe parent household.

I also divulge into why it is necessary for us to know our ancestral makeup because who we come from says a lot about who we are today.

I had another talk with self and said to self, “it’s time to close ya legs to these niggas.” And that’s what I’m doing for the time being.
