The North-East monsoon rainfall activity may remain subdued over South-East Peninsular India (Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood) during the next four days, since a low-pressure area brewing away in the South-East Arabian Sea is luring away a chunk of the flows.

Easterly winds blowing across the South Peninsula lack in speed and depth. But the dry spell would, however, be broken by a fresh spurt of rainfall from November 25 as a fresh easterly wave approaches the South-East Peninsular coast, according to varied model forecasts.

India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi, said that rain or thundershowers lashed most places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during this period; many places over Himachal Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala; a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Lakshadweep; and isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rayalaseema, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The prevailing troughs in easterlies rom the Comorin area to north Coastal Tamil Nadu and another trough from Maldives area to South-East Arabian Sea off Kerala coast persist. They would continue to trigger scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and isolated heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) and over Lakshadweep today.

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, said this morning that intense convective clouds over the Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Puducherry and Cuddalore districts have the potential to continue the heavy rainfall activity over these areas until noon.

Separately, it said that heavy rain may lash Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Cuddalore, Thoothukudi, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts. Chennai may remain generally cloudy with occasional thunderstorms and light-to-moderate rain, heavy at times.

Google will introduce a new policy for inactive accounts which enables it to delete content after a set period of time from June 2021.
