Almost every public/customer service industry is ran 24/7. As convenient it is to us as a customer, there is always a group of people who get fucked out of their time off. In some cases, these overtime workdays are preventable.
Our special guest Bubbles, associate director of a non-profit organization that houses unfortunate youths, returns for a third time to share some of her stories of shift shortages and micro-management.

Nothing puts an organization on edge more than an inspection. It’s never a good feeling having someone dig through your work life. It’s around this time where management reinforces the policies and procedures of your organization, some of which you were never made aware of, nor were they enforced until now. When your boss is awkwardly nice, and has that creepy smile, that’s when you know….
Special guest Bubbles, associate director of a non-profit organization for housing unfortunate youths, makes a return to share with us some of her stories of having to undergo surprise inspections and how simple steps can make them less painful.
Inspections are part of the quality process to ensure products and/pr services are meeting the minimums and won't fail. There are those however who wait until the last minute to prepare and/or correct any deficiencies. This poor practice can lead to lengthy audits, poor performance, a lack of morale, and incur more costs.

Every industry has its fair share of convoluted steps. Most of these steps can be very unnecessary, however were implemented because of some incident or someone over-compensating for safety. Actions like these really make you question the intelligence of those who made them.

In some cases, the end justifies the means. It’s instances like this where most “get it done” actions are performed and get overlooked or waived. However, “one-time actions” slowly turn into the new normal which can spell disaster if it continues to be practiced. No operation is worth continually glossing over procedures.

In this quick bonus episode for the holidays, we are celebrating 1000 downloads! We share some stories sent in by YOU the listeners and the stories behind our call signs. We share some of our behind the scenes experiences with the podcast such as our struggles with recording remotely and working with budget equipment. We'll also explain our visions of the future of the podcast and are looking forward to see where we go from here! We'd like to take this moment to say thank you for all of your support and helping us get here!
You walk into your office, your desk is piled high with papers and documents that are probably filled out wrong (because they always are). You know you are going to be disappointed, yet you turn on your computer that is filled with analytics and statistics that are just going to let you down further for the umpteenth day in a row. This is the life of your documentation (logs and records) specialists, matter of fact anyone who's had to deal with document heavy programs, and they hate it as much you hate taking the extra minute to make sure your chicken scratch is legible!

When major emergencies happen, they take to the sky. We count on them to take those in critical condition to the nearest haven and be our eyes in the sky during major disasters. They are the men and women of the aviation emergency services. Life in the EMS/SAR community can be very demanding, but one thing is for sure…
