  • Voice Aversions
    Welcome to the show!
We all have aversions to certain vocal variety elements. These can limit your clients, audience, opportunities, and your income.
Announcement: Voices of Success is about to launch again - my 8 week, live, online voice coaching program. This is small group voice coaching where we will rewrite the psychology of your voice. Check out more information on my website under the "Work with Me" tab.
Everybody has a go-to technique and everyone has an aversion. I see the greatest aversions in speed and volume: slow/fast and high/low.
You shouldn't have a go-to; you should use all five elements to vary your vocal elements. Find a balance with your vocal techniques to avoid repelling those in your audience who have an aversion to your "go-to" vocal element. Figure out your go-to and start rolling in the opposite. This will help get you to the next level in your vocal technique.
Get out there and speak your truth; just do it beautifully.

  • Rewriting the Voice Story from the Inside Out

Rewriting the Voice Story from the Inside Out

    Welcome to the show!

Today's episode is a voice coaching episode and I will be analyzing our guest's voice. Our guest, Leah Carey, has an exceptionally fascinating field of work: sexual communication coach. She uses her experience and her voice on her podcast, Good Girls Talk About Sex, to work with women and couples to figure out what it is they want in the bedroom and how to advocate for that (and get it!).

You will not see our guest but understand that it still takes a certain level of vulnerability to have your voice analyzed by a complete stranger.  Prior to this interview, I had only spoken with her for 3 minutes. Keep in mind while listening that I have no notes, no idea what I will hear, write or fix during this episode. Listen along as Leah describes her journey from no idea how to express herself to being comfortable to advocating for herself to now working with me to make the outside voice match the inside transformation she’s had.

The voice is the orchestra of the heart. In this episode I will help Leah reach her potential and reveal how she truly feels through her voice.

Just as you would consult a medical professional for personal medical needs, keep in mind that diagnoses and techniques provided in this coaching session are not a one-size-fits-all.

  • Getting Past Your Story and Finding Your Voice with Jessica
    Welcome to the show!
Today I have such a great guest with me.  Jessica has an incredible podcast where she helps women learn how to have more confidence, especially in the work place.  No doubt our work is very aligned.  But today is all about Jessica and the psychology of the voice story she's been unraveling in her life.
Jessica and I do some heavy sleuthing to get her some answers on where her voice habits that are no longer serving her have come from.  We dig deep and get the answers we are looking for, then we go to work fixing the things are getting in the way of Jessica getting to the next level.
I think you will love hearing from Jessica, I know I loved working with her.

  • Women and Leadership w/ Trina L. Martin

    Welcome to the show!

Today I have a wonderful guest with me that I know you are going to love hearing from.  Trina L. Martin has had quite a career not only in the military but also with the FBI.

In today's episode Trina and I talk about:

    Women and leadership,

Why women need to support other women,

How things are changing for women,

How long we still have to go,

Getting through struggle and adversity and so much more!

    Guest Bio

Trina L. Martin is a motivational speaker who inspires emerging leaders to pursue their wildest

dreams with heart and grit. An accomplished and dedicated member of the U.S. military for nearly 30 years, she has broken barriers and made strides in her career that many said weren’t possible. Her new mission is to show others how they, too, can achieve the impossible and define success on their own terms.

A native of Chicago, IL, Trina grew up watching her mother struggle financially to take care of the family. She dreamed of attending college one day, but knew she’d have to find a way to achieve that goal on her own, due to the lack of support and resources at home. With unwavering determination, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the reserves to put herself through school at Alabama A&M University. Both of these choices fueled Trina’s desire to succeed and revealed the depths of her resiliency.

After several years in the Army, Trina transferred to the Navy, and earned an MBA degree from
Western International University. Naturally skilled at finding the harmony between technology,
science, and data, she has led a stellar career in the Information Technology field. As an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy and now as a Cyber Intelligence Analyst for the FBI, Trina has pierced the glass ceiling and excelled in positions typically held by men.

The common denominator throughout Trina’s career has been her ability to set goals and not only achieve, but surpass them. Self-motivation, discipline, and hard work are the driving forces that helped her design a life and career that defied the odds stacked against her. As a speaker, she takes a refreshingly honest and relatable approach to teaching student leaders, new professionals, and women how to develop the confidence they need to do the same. Based in Houston, TX, when she’s not helping others realize their full potential in the office or on a stage, the role she values most is that of mom to her two children.

You can find out more about Trina on her podcast Trina Talks,
