  • S 4 Ep 1: BODY IMAGE- Defined

According to Merriam-Webster.com, Body Image is defined as: a subjective picture of one's own physical appearance established both by self observation and by nothing the reactions of others. What?

Did you catch how body image is impressed upon us by others? When did we stop owning our perspective for what our body image should look like?

Negative body image starts at a very young age that continues into adulthood and eventually takes over a greater portion of our lives. It happens to in many different ways but the result of negativity is generally the same for most.

    In this episode we share:

-How we saw ourselves as kids when we looked in a mirror

-How were we affected as adults

    -How we see ourselves today

Season 4 will be all about Body Image so get comfortable and get ready to love yourself!

  • S 3 Ep 11: When you grow we grow

Growth is talked about on so many platforms; talk shows, podcasts, and in the coaching environment. So, what does it mean to Grow? How do we Grow and when do we realize its time to Grow?

In this episode Carolyn and I share how we support each other to grow individually and together. We have learned that if we create a safe space to speak out for the things that we desire to do or experience then most likely that very thing will come to be. Also, it has been our experience that just sharing our dreams with each other is just as good as having them come true.

I love photography, recently specializing in Boudoir photography.  Carolyn loves to support people by coaching and mentoring especially surrounding Body Image.  Knowing this we are collaborating to dwarf Body Image that is influenced by the media.

Carolyn encourages me to attend Boudoir work shops and I encourage her to have find mentors to support her Coaching.

What does growing look like for you? What does growing look like for you spouse? And how does growing together look for the both of you?

Enjoy the conversation and share it.

    Thank you for listening

  • S 3 Ep 10: We Are Always Worthy to Love and to Receive Love

Who determines our worth? You determine your worth and believe that you were born worthy of every desire life has to offer; especially to be loved and to love.

In this episode Carolyn asked me a question: "When did you know you were worthy to be loved, deeply, truely, and honesty? And to be worthy of receiving the love you wanted and desired?

Whew! That's a loaded question. But the answer is quit easy here. I know what I have to offer and I love myself enough to not settle for anything less than what I'm worthy of.  I expect to receive back what I offer; love, a deep connection and honesty.  Most likely your person expects the same from you.

The thing is, we want to be loved and to love so deeply but we feel that we are not worthy of either. But the true is and will always be is that we are born worthy!

So, tune into your worthiness and live life fully expecting everything you desire!

Yes, because we are always worthy. That simple!

  • S3 Ep 8: Don't let trauma take the lead in your life
Quite frankly trauma sucks! But trauma doesn't have to take the lead in your life. Love, Safety and Belonging. Abraham Maslow was right: Three very basic needs that humans crave:  Love, Safety and Belonging.  Generally speaking, we have all experieced some sort of trauma in our lives and learning to release it and to repurpose it will change your life.
In this episode Carolyn boldly shares how her trauma now helps her to coach others through their own trauma. It takes the right environment to navigate through traumatizing events. The key is to hold a safe space to release trauma and to be patient. The result is truely amazing. Listen to how it has changed Carolyn's life and mine as well.

  • S 3 Ep 7: Sharing Your Dreams Leads To Deeper Conversations

How much more intense would conversations be in a non-judgement environment? Would you share your deepest desires and talk more freely about your dreams; describe how you want your life to be. There is a difference between quality conversations and conversations. Which are you currently having with your person or persons? Conversations change life's.

We often have intense conversations surrounding relationships, goals, desires, dreams and ways to impact the world. We had one last night and that conversation was sparked by me saying, "Can you imagine being immortal and having limitless resources?" Carolyn's reply was: "How many people to you think we would be able to help." Me: "All of them because we would have the time and the resources to do it forever."

In that conversation alone we traveled the world, created organizations for every need, lived on a yacht, bought a private airplane and had a Boudoir photography studio in Paris that empowers women to look beyond "Body Image." Is any of this possible? YES, is it possible to be immortal? NO. Again, having these types of conversations are impactful to the world.

The point here is that Carolyn and I created a safe environment over the years to have these types of conversations because its important to share ideals, desires and goals without judgment or ridicule. Creating this space didn't happen overnight but we have learned that sharing creates trust and vulnerability which leads to think of what is possible in our lives. EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING.

Being free to talk about everything your heart desires with your person is the goal here. What are your dreams? What do you want your life to be like? What conversations are you having or want to have? Make it happen, live the life you desire!

  • S 3 Ep 5: Communication through physical touch

Starting at infancy, we assumed that our parents provide us with enough physical touch for our emotional development and ultimately to live a healthy emotional life going forward.  Sounds good right? However, this isn't the case for many. The good news is that it's not too late to have a healthy emotional life. All things are possible for the willing!

This episode highlighted things that Carolyn and I still need to work on in our relationship. The reality of being in a relationship involves checks and balances. Yes, relatioships are like juggling because we are constantly in motion and focusing to keep things going.  But what happens when we stop focusing or stop moving our hands? Yes, things just fall to the ground and then we have to start over. Starting over is fine as long as you do it!

Physical Touch is one of our five senses that is truely limitless. We can touch and be touched in so many ways and the beauty of it all is that we get to be creative exploring the gift of touch. So, go kiss your lover. Give them a big meaningful kiss. Hug them like they've been gone for days and tell them that you LOVE everything about them.

We are here to support you and your relationship.

    Hugs and more hugs!

  • S 3 Ep 4: Understanding WHY

Is it important to understand why our spouse/partner do the things they do in that very specific manner? Do we know why we do the things we do?

In this episode Carolyn and I go deep and explain why its important to let your spouse/partner in on your thought process. We have learned through trial and error over the years that sharing is really caring. This is very true!

-When we take the time to explain our process for doing that thing, whatever it is,  it makes it easier for others to get on board quicker

-Allowing your spouse/partner into your brain is like a personal invitation for them to see your creative side. It gives them a new perspective

-A Mind Shift occurs once we you understand the process

-When we share our thoughts and feelings intimacy is created. Intimacy doesn't just happen in the bedroom. Intimacy is closeness and familiarity.

Tune in to hear how Sonia's mind shifted when it comes to going with Carolyn on a grocery trip. She now appreciates how Carolyn goes down each isle so mindfully.  This didn't just happen over night!

  • S 3 Ep 3: Where Is Your Love Gauge

Love...such a small word that is filled with so much.  We come into this world seeking to be loved, we date other humans searching for it, and we desire to find it, share it, and live happily ever after.

In this episode of Hey, Sonia and Carolyn we talk about checking your gauge to see where it sits.  One book that Sonia and I have found very beneficial to understanding how we communicate is Gary Chapman's 5 Languages Of Love.  Understanding the way each of us communicates our love leads us to understanding when our gauge is on full or when it is getting low and its time to start doing something about it.

We are so excited to share this conversation with you while at the same time sharing ways you can check in with you spouse/partner to see Where Your Love Gauge is and how you can fill it up if its getting low.  We value relationships and understand that they take loving care, time and growth to cultivate which is why we share our experiences with you.  It is our desire to empower relationships!

Let us know what is going amazingly or where your relationship could be filled up at by reaching out to us [email protected] or join us on Facebook @Hey, Sonia & Carolyn we love to hear, share, and hold space for your relationship.
