This week on Catching You Up with Nadav, we discuss the new podcast launched by a Comedy Central veteran and hilarious standup Daniel Tosh... Tosh Show. It seems like some of our favorite people from televesions have made their way over to podcasting. People like Conan O'Brien, Dax Sheperd, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, San Hayes, Bill Maher, and the creators and stars of It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia all got in on it.

I give you a little history on Daniel Tosh, Tosh.0, Comedy Central, and how we got to today, with a brand new Tosh Show. I give my opinion on their launch, their choice of guests, and how impressive his success is and my outlook for its future. I give my opinion on new people entering the podcast world, how excited I am for the big advertisers to enter the industry, and talking a little bit about Tosh Show's second episode.

This week on Catching You Up w/ Nadav, we touch on the Carlos Mencia, one of the most notorious joke thieves in the comedy world. I show you the clip from the "I Am Comic" documentary from 2010, Marc Maron recounting the hit piece Joe Rogan made on Carlos confronting him at The Comedy Store, and Carlos's first appearance on WTF with Marc Maron. Carlos talks about when he was accused of stealing jokes from Paul Mooney and Eddie Griffin. Maron asks Carlos about beefing with Joe Rogan, and being accused of stealing jokes from Ari Shaffir, George Lopez and Bill Cosby.

Marc realized Carlos was doing damage control and using Marc and his platform, so recorded another episode where he invited some comics close to Carlos (Willie Barcena and Steve Trevino) to get the real story, along with inviting Carlos back on to address these issues. Marc confronts Carlos on why he decides to bump headliners from performing, stealing jokes, and shares some final thoughts. I also briefly discuss Carlos's appearance on Tigerbelly with Bobby Lee and Khalyla Kuhn and Joe Rogan's reflection on the incident that he shared on Flagrant with Andrew Schulz. This week, we peel the curtain back a little bit. I show you guys a little bit about how this podcast is put together and reveal one of the mega rules of having a podcast: CONSISTENT UPLOADS! I then start shedding some light on how last week's episode featuring Andrew Schulz went down. Your boy had some WILD stomach pains. Turns out it was an umbilical hernia and I had to go to the ER and had to make a serious decision about putting work before health. This tummy ache originated from a weight loss challenge on 2 Bears 1 Cave with Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer and came to a head last week when I started feeling abdominal pain all of a sudden. I went to the emergency room with a hard belly button that needed to get pushed back in.

We then talk to our good friend of the show, Dr. Drew Pinsky, to talk more deeply about hernias. I tell Drew how I got mine, why the doctors decided to operate, and how they repaired mine by inserting a mesh into my abdominal wall. We discuss failure rates of the mesh used to repair my hernia, tips for keeping future hernias from coming on, and when you know you should go to the hospital. We discuss the different kind of hernias, the inguinal hernia (where your nuts go into your nuts), femoral hernias in your leg, and hiatal hernias in your esophagus. We learned so much this week!

This week, we look into Andrew Schulz, a juggernaut in the standup comedy and podcasting. Schulz started experimenting with multiple social media platforms and it's been paying off wildly. We chronicle his career startiong at his first appearence on the Joe Rogan Experience. We then see how he experimented with social media by posting standup comedy slip-s to Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. We then analyze all of his innovations in the podcast space, and it's all impressive.

He discuss his comedy Showtime special "You'd Be Surprised," his YouTube special "Gringo Papi," and his blunders Annie Lederman, Khalyla Kuhn, Bobby Lee and his appearance on Tigerbelly. that's a lot of context, but can people change?
