The Boston Celtics defense was absent all game and scoring droughts on offense ended up in a loss at the hands of the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics struggled during the second quarter and after that the game quickly got out of hand. Kyrie Irving played in his first game since missing his last three and scored 17 points while Kyle Lowry was dominant with 23 points.
The Boston Celtics, with Kyrie Irving and Marcus Morris back in the fold, are looking to extend their lead in the Eastern Conference. They start a four-game stretch against the top 4 teams in the East tonight against Toronto. They'll then meet Washington, Indiana and Cleveland
The Celtics have an agreement set with Greg Monroe, but are still waiting to finalize the deal. Looking ahead to Thursday's trade deadline the Celtics want flexibility for any deals that may be out there.

In a showdown between the two best teams in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics will look to top All-Star DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and the Raptors in Toronto.

With the Celtics continuing to play extremely shorthanded, they leaned on All-Star big man Al Horford and the young core to edge the Trail Blazers at home on Super Bowl Sunday for their 4th straight victory. After trailing by 16 at the half, the C's came all the way back to tie the game late in the 4th to begin what turned out to be one of the best finishes of the season, ending with an Al Horford stepback jumper at the buzzer.
Jared Weiss is reporting per "The Woj" podcast that the Boston Celtics are willing to trade Marcus Smart for a trade that involves a first round pick.
Meanwhile Danny Ainge is also seeking to trade for either Tyreke Evans or Lou Williams to provide bench scoring.

The Boston Celtics will reportedly sign big man Greg Monroe to a one-year contract worth $5M. This will be his 3rd team this season after stints with both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns. His signing came at a good time, as the C's have been hit with a ton of injuries recently. Kyrie Irving, Marcus Morris, Marcus Smart, and Shane Larkin have all been ruled out of tonight's matchup vs. the Atlanta Hawks.

The Celtics agreed to terms with big man Greg Monroe after being bought out by the Phoenix Suns earlier this week. Monroe has averaged 10.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this year with the Suns and Milwaukee Bucks.
