We received a question from one of our listeners, Monica, that said “I love the timeless yet trendy look of checkered or diamond floors. I’m planning on installing it in my new home, however I’m stuck on scale. Is there a rule for pairing tile size with square footage of a room? I would love for this to be addressed in an episode, thank you.”

“I feel like all 3 of us were the check. We’re gonna be justified with the wall. We’re not gonna throw it on the diagonal, right? I don’t consider myself to be formal or fancy enough and I honestly hate it when people take their shoes off at my house. I’m like ‘Oh no, just please stay comfortable.’ I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m overly fancy.” 30:25
