  • Why does Napier have two Woolworths supermarkets?
It's a case of double vision that nobody can really explain. Shoppers in Napier can buy their groceries from one of two Woolworths in the central city - diagonally opposite each other, seperated only by a street. They've both only recently branded from Countdowns, but one question remains - what's the point? Reporter Jimmy Ellingham takes a look.

  • Government shaking up earthquake strengthening rules
The government is moving to a new risk based approach to earthquake strengthening, saying it will save building owners more than $8.2 billion across New Zealand. It is ditching the New Building Standard ratings currently used to determine whether a building is earthquake prone. Building and Construction Minister Chris Penk spoke to Lisa Owen.

  • Bledisloe injury toll means reshuffle for All Blacks
The Bledisloe Cup will remain a New Zealand resident for another year at least, after the All Blacks' 33-24 victory over the Wallabies. While the win is a satisfying one for Coach Scott Robertson, the injury toll means the All Blacks will have to do a reshuffle for this weekend's rematch in Perth, which doubles as a potential Rugby Championship decider. Sports reporter Jamie Wall spoke to Lisa Owen.

  • Teen makes South Island chess history
For the first time in its more than 70 year history, a woman has won the South Island Chess Championship and she's a 16 year old high school student. Year eleven student from Auckland's Kristin School Isabelle Ning won 6 out of 8 of her games and drew two seeing her finish top competitor. Chess champ Isabelle Ning spoke to Lisa Owen.
Following the interview, tournament organisers said Auckland teenager Vyanla Punsalan was a female joint winner of the tournament in 2017.

  • Residents fundraising for speed cameras to bust boy racers
A group of Christchurch residents are so fed up with boy racers they're fundraising for speed cameras to collect evidence against those driving dangerously and waking residents in the dead of the night. At a public meeting last week Lyttleton Harbour residents decided to form a taskforce and raise money so they can hire a portable speed camera. It's hoped the camera will record data that could help police track down the culprits. There's concern some of the drivers are using the narrow roads between the bays as a race track. 72 year old Linda Purves is a community patrol volunteer and spoke to Lisa Owen.

  • Have years of wins for the All Blacks made fans indifferent?
The All Blacks have held the Bledisloe Cup since 2003, so has that dulled their desire for more success against the Wallabies? And what about New Zealand fans, do they care as much as they used to, or have years of winning made them indifferent? Rugby reporter Joe Porter is in Auckland ahead of tomorrow night's test at Eden Park and tried to find out.
