Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with a little Chicken Soup for the Soul inspiration for you, today from our brand-new book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. This is such a fun collection of stories, but filled with deeper meaning too, like today’s stories, which delve into the real meaning of Christmas and gratitude and counting our blessings, which is worth thinking about as we head into Thanksgiving as well.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with today’s Chicken Soup for the Soul for you, and today I’m sharing two stories about how you can truly talk yourself into having a more positive attitude. The amazing thing is that even if you just pretend to be a more positive person, everyone will react to you differently and then before you know it, it will be true. This is proven over and over again in our new book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive, Live Happy. It’s so simple to implement these practices and they are so effective.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark and it’s Friend Friday. I’m back today with my friend Mike Dow, America’s go-to therapist. We’ve written a great new Chicken Soup for the Soul book that does something different. It takes Chicken Soup for the Soul stories and combines them with Dr. Mike’s easy to understand explanations of cognitive behavioral therapy so that you can actually act as your own therapist and solve some of your problems yourself!

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with some Chicken Soup for the Soul inspiration for you as we enter the holiday season. Today we’re going to talk about Thanksgiving and how you can get your gratitude on in time for all those get-togethers with family and friends. I read a study that said there are two keys to happiness: getting enough sleep and having gratitude—that is seeing the good in your life and being able to count your blessings.

In this book, we have stories from people going through their ordinary, everyday lives, who suddenly find the find themselves in extraordinary, unexplainable situations. Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with a little Chicken Soup for the Soul inspiration for you from our latest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive, Live Happy. Today I want to talk about one of the two key traits you need in order to be happy, and that is gratitude. What I love about gratitude is that you don’t have to be a naturally grateful person—this is a character trait that you can actually add on and it only takes a little practice to make it part of your life. There aren’t many character traits like that—that you can just add on or get better at, but this is one. And it’s so important, because if you’re not actively noticing all the good in your life, how can you be happy? And how much better would your life be if you were counting your blessings? You’d see the world as a rosier place, and your interactions with other people would be better too, because everyone responds better to a happy, upbeat person than an unhappy grump.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark and it’s Friend Friday on the Chicken Soup for the Soul podcast. Today I’m talking to Janet Rich, known as JR, who has an inspiring story in our new book about angels and miracles and an amazing coincidence. Her story is about a time when she was at a very low point in her life as a young adult and how she was led to a moment of synchronicity which put her on a life changing path to a fabulous career in the music industry.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul and today we’re talking about how you turn a cat hater into a cat lover, with two stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Life Lessons from the Cat. We created this book because we learn so much from our cats—they show us how to be better humans and they teach us about resilience and fortitude and loyalty. And sometimes they even turn a “dog person” into a very appreciative “cat person.”
