Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to continue sharing stories with you from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Your 10 Keys to Happiness. This is a collection of stories that illustrate what I believe are the ten keys to happiness based on my reading of tens of thousands of personal, revealing stories from our writers. I’ve already talked about the power of gratitude and the power of forgiveness to change your life on this podcast, as well as volunteering, having less stuff, making me time, and stepping outside your comfort zone. Today I want to talk about another one of my ten keys to happiness, and that is to Be Yourself—be more of you instead of trying to be like someone else.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories with you from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Cat. We learn so much from our feline friends, and along the way they keep us company, provide unconditional love, and share in the ups and downs of our lives. They can be very very good and they can be very very bad, but in a totally lovable way, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today in this episode about remarkably naughty cats. And by the way this is my 900th episode. I started this podcast seven years ago and I’ve written 900 original episodes, all based on stories on our books!

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories with you from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Cat. What do we learn from our cats? Everything. Our cats make us better people. If we’re sad, they comfort us. If we need to have more fun, they show us how. If we need to heal, they help us do that. And if we rescued them, they rescue us back, as you’ll hear in today’s stories.

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories with you from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Dog. What do we learn from our dogs? Everything. Our dogs make us better people. If we rescued them, they rescue us back. If we’re sad, they comfort us. If we need to have more fun, they show us how. They are our protectors, our role models, and our best friends. And sometimes they even choose us instead of the other way around…

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Your 10 Keys to Happiness. This book is a passion project for me and the synthesis of what I’ve learned in 14 years as editor-in-chief of Chicken Soup for the Soul, reading tens of thousands of stories from people who bare their souls and talk about what works and what doesn’t work in their lives. I’m excited to share some great examples of what DOES work in this new collection, and today I want to talk about facing your fears as a way of changing your life for the better.

This is a collection of stories that illustrate what I believe are the ten keys to happiness based on my reading of tens of thousands of personal revealing stories from our writers. One of those keys to happiness is stepping outside your comfort zone, something that will make you feel more empowered and energetic and reinvigorated. You could do something really big and scary, like moving to a foreign country, or doing a daredevil sport of some kind, or you could do something smaller, like wearing brighter clothing… or in the case of Ava Pennington, painting her walls with color.
