The Feeza and Breeza twins were at it again, although both miserable after a weekend watching their teams lose.

It’s Finals season for the AFLW and we were treated to some great Qualifying Finals – heart breaking for Freo and North as their Premiership dreams were crushed. Plus some big games for the men’s during Easter weekend.

Fi also caught up with Cheryl Critchley the President of the AFL Fans Association about ticketing, rule changes and representing fans.

It was the Feeza and Breeza show this week on Chicks Talking Footy. We caught up with Gemma Bastiani from Siren Sport: A Women in Sport Collective. Gemma is the founder of Riot Expert and podcast network Play On Radio and is a leading voice in AFLW Analysis and statistics. Gemma hopped on the line to chat about the wonderful work that Siren do, and discuss the AFLW season so far. We review Round 7 of the AFLW season and preview Round 1 on the eve of the 2021 AFL Premiership season.

In August 2016, Hutchins joined Collingwood as a priority pick, fulfilling her childhood dream of playing for Collingwood in the AFL. She made her debut in round 1, 2017, in the inaugural AFLW match at IKON Park against Carlton.

She now plays for the Hawthorn Football Club VFLW side and has been a great campaigner for marriage equality and is sponsored by the Hawks Pride Group.

The Chicks caught up with Meg about what it’s like to play footy again after an 18 month Covid hiatus and what it’s like to be coached by Bec Goddard and an all female coaching group.

Fi, Motty and Bec said thanks and bye to Bruce McAveney, Motty invented a new segment Footy Alphabet and we chatted to Kara Antonio from the Freemantle Dockers about captain life and the 2021 season and caught up with our friend Meg Hutchins from the Hawthorn VFLW team.

Bonnie Toogood has excellent game sense and solid foot skills. Used to be a dual athlete, playing netball at state level, before switching focus to her footy career. Was nominated for the NAB AFLW Rising Star award in Round 2, 2018 after recording 10 disposals and three tackles in the win over Brisbane.

Bonnie has also been unofficially voted as having the Best Surname in the AFLW.

Fi and Bonnie discussed her love for her coach Nathan Burke, the Club dad, her love for beetroot smoothies, the Pride Game guernsey she modelled and what Pride Game means to her and the players and preparation for the game against Melbourne at Whitten Oval this Sunday.

Victoria’s lockdown 3.0 did not stop the AFLW competition from forging ahead.

This week interstate games went ahead in front of crowds whilst Victorian clubs played other Victorian clubs behind closed doors.

The Chicks Talking Footy team retreated to their loungerooms to review Round 3. We discuss the gap emerging between the established and expansion clubs across the competition.

Western Bulldogs star Bonnie Toogood jumped on the line to have a chat with us about the season so far and what it means to play in Pride Round.

The Chicks caught up with Eliza from Carlton Pride and Matt from Bulldogs Pride before the bounce at the annual Pride Game at Whitten Oval. They talked about how they work with their Clubs to make them more inclusive and what Pride Games mean to them.
