In the early hours of March 10, 1998, emergency services responded to what was reported as a terrifying home invasion in the affluent Sydney suburb of Dover Heights. Her husband, Aaron Govendir, claimed that an unknown assailant posing as a police officer had attacked them both — knocking him unconscious before brutally killing Denise and stealing their car.

In 2008, 18-year-old Joshua Maddux vanished after telling friends he was heading out for a short walk. Seven years later, his remains were discovered in a place that raised far more questions than answers — a locked, abandoned cabin high in the Colorado mountains, with no clear explanation of how he got there… or why.
In this episode, we unravel the baffling details of Joshua’s disappearance and death: the timeline that doesn’t quite add up, the strange condition of the cabin, and the theories that continue to divide investigators and armchair detectives alike. Was it a tragic accident? A case of misadventure? Or something far more sinister?
