So this episode is so different from how we normally roll but it's such an illuminating coaching conversation, I can't wait for you to hear it. My guest today came to our recording pretty convinced that she's just afraid of success. But soon we agreed that it's much more accurate to say she's nervous about the unknown.
Lyndsey Wilcken empowers moms to defy diet culture so they can finally find the strength, vitality and confidence they've been looking for from a holistic lens.
And despite so much growth and discovery in her business over the last several months, right now, Lyndsey's feeling stuck. She's a single mom with teenagers at home who require support. Plus she's got her business to think about. Needless to say, Lyndsey's telling herself what a lot of us say:
I should be further along than I am right now.
If you relate, you'll love this episode because Lyndsey and I made a few crucial discoveries:
1. First, we reframed the myth of The Fear of Success so she could release any blame or shame about her progress.< /br>
I loved every moment of this conversation because no matter what you've achieved up until now, we all can use a larger dose of self compassion to take us where we want to go.

If you use Instagram (IG) in your marketing, this episode is for you because let's face it...IG can be incredibly frustrating when you feel like the effort doesn't match the results you get back. That was the case for Allyn Miller who helps stressed moms survive and thrive in every meltdown whether it's their child's or their own.
Allyn enjoys IG marketing but she's not always consistent. She came into the episode with a pretty clear question: How can I do a better job of using IG to grow my email list? We developed a 3-pronged approach. First, we automated her DM strategy using the messaging app, ManyChat. Then, we removed any subtle or soft CTAs whenever she promotes her lead magnet.
Often, as values driven coaches, we unintentionally overcomplicate our marketing because we don't want to be salesy or pushy. But this actually makes it more difficult for the people who want our help to get it. So, we just removed the subtlety to give folks an unapologetic, client-centered path to getting their hands on her extremely helpful lead magnet. These strategies allowed Allyn the space to implement Story Swaps. It's an idea I had during our conversation inspired by lead magnet swaps. You'll have to listen in to learn the steps and I hope you will because this super simple collaboration strategy got both of us very excited.

One of the important rules we live by inside my mentorship program, The Hive is this: Center the Client, Not Yourself. This rule applies to how we sell, how we coach, and how we market our businesses. And it also applies to the way we structure and price our offers. Which is where Clarissa Cabbage comes in.
Clarissa helps people with autoimmune symptoms who aren't getting the support they need from their doctors, take control of their health so they can get back to their lives. This year she's taking her coaching deeper by introducing functional lab testing. You'll hear in the episode how excited Clarissa is to add lab testing into her work. But as the saying goes: new level, new devil.
So, Clarissa has a few questions about how she can design coaching packages to include the cost of lab testing while still maintaining accessible and aligned pricing. The two of us landed on a great solution but, here's what I want you to listen for:
Notice when Clarissa and I shift from simply putting our heads together to solve a problem to centering her clients instead. As soon as we made that adjustment…the answer became crystal clear. When we asked ourselves, “what's the coaching package that would benefit the client most?” we realized that Clarissa needed at least two different options to ensure that everyone who wants her help can get it without eating away at Clarissa's profit margin.
I think you'll agree. whether you're rethinking your coaching packages or you have another question you've been unable to answer…center the client instead of yourself to see what you uncover.

If you've ever had that oh-no moment when a client says YES and you realize you don't have an easy way to collect payments, you're not even sure if you should do that before a contract gets signed and speaking of contracts, you don't even have one in place…
This episode is for you. It first aired way back in 2021 but as we move into a new year, I want you to be fully prepared to welcome in new clients.
Which means you need a rock solid way to onboard them.
In this episode I am spilling the beans about all things onboarding as I take Nzinga Moore through the exact workflow I follow whenever I sign a new client.
I had so much fun walking Nzinga through how to:
If your new client onboarding process isn't smooth like butter, grab a pen and paper because this episode is right up your alley.
And if you like what you hear and you want to get your hands on all the templates we discuss, you can get on the waitlist at NewClientNowWhat.com
In this episode, you'll learn to:
“I want them to feel seen and heard, like they have a teammate.” - Nzinga Moore
Key Takeaways
By implementing sound onboarding strategies, coaches not only streamline administrative tasks but also contribute to building clients' confidence and trust in the program from the outset.

Happy New Year to you! Let's wrap up 2023 with a transformative process to design your wildly successful year. This special solo show is designed to do three things…
2. Hold Dallas accountable to her own goals and values by taking you behind the scenes as she evaluates how 2023 went through the lens of her core values.
3. Create a connection with you, the listener. Dallas shares vulnerably about what was a rather rough year. And she hopes to inspire you about the year ahead by sharing her own vision for 2024.
1. Clarify 1-5 core values you hold and define them. These questions will help you get started:
a. What feelings, qualities or experiences matter most to you?
2. Looking through the lens of your business, where are you thriving?
3. And where are you still striving?

I'm going to kick things off today shouting out today's guest. When I met Anastasia Edwards, she had a baby little business and a strong work ethic. Now, less than two years later she's got a waitlist for private clients, a full and thriving membership, and she just finished her first official course launch.
Anastasia helps actors take charge of the business side of acting and start working professionally by defining their brand, building a strong team and booking their first high level project. And her course grew out of all the incredible work she's done with individual clients in the last 18 months plus her own experience as an actress.
We sat down for a last minute session to brainstorm small actions Anastasia could take to double her sales at the end of her launch. The two of us developed a relatively simple plan of action to leverage the warmest leads in her community and get the most possible mileage out of all of her amazing webinar content. A webinar launch feels like a ton of work. In fact, it is a lot of work. But believe me when I tell you that your second webinar launch is half as challenging. The third one is even half as challenging as the second. And there is a day in your not too distant future where your webinar launch almost makes you nervous because it's so dialed in and simple.
That's where I was in my last launch… but our friend Anastasia's in the excitement, overwhelm and thrill of her very first launch. So, we got down to business to help her run through the tape and set her very first course up for success.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Key Takeaways
Mastering the art of launching a successful course can be a game-changer in the life of a coach. Whether it's understanding the importance of taking action, learning through experiences, or reaching out to potential students, all these aspects play crucial roles in a course's success. Gaining mastery over these factors allows coaches to stay focused and calm during the launch as noticeably seen from the episode, boosting their chances of reaching or even surpassing their enrollment goals.

My guest today is Toya Gavin who helps women of color transition from the jobs they were trained in to the careers they were built for.
When Toya first started coaching she focused on helping women in the law find better jobs, which for Toya felt like a neat and tidy outcome with a nice linear path to follow.
Now that Toya's leaning into a deeper purpose, she's been struggling a bit to articulate what her signature system is.
Because the journey is different for every client. The obstacles are less obvious and more deeply rooted in our society.
But, like me, Toya is a very linear thinker. So, we both really wanted to find a way to communicate the layered, nuanced and extremely important purpose of her work to accomplish three things.
First, Toya wanted a syllabus so to speak that her clients can check in with in order to track their own progress, understand what might come next, and easily reference tools they've learned through coaching.
Second, Toya wanted a roadmap she can rely on to keep her work, her message, and her marketing organized in her own mind. Ideally, this roadmap could even turn into the outline of a book one day.
And lastly, Toya wanted to use her signature system as a marketing tool. So, we had to figure out clear and hooky language to describe her work in a way that wouldn't diminish it.
And you know what… I think we got there.
This episode is sure to go down as one of my favorites, so I hope you're ready to take some notes.
I believe that every coach - whether you know it or not - has a signature system. And when you spell it out, that system becomes the cornerstone of your work and your marketing.
In this episode, you'll learn:
“You can tell a bigger story with every piece of social content. We're really only making one point. Anything more than that, and we're working harder than we need to.” - Dallas
Key Takeaways
Toya's mission is to redefine her coaching approach for women of color so that she can communicate it in a clear and compelling way. Plus generate a roadmap every client will follow on their coaching journey.
Internalized oppression deeply affects people of color - women in particular which limits their perception of what they can achieve.
