In the previous episode, Karim has been exploring and talking about the origin of coaching and how the coaching started within sports, and basically started with someone's called Tim Galloway.

He was a tennis instructor who discovered that by applying the concept of asking questions and involving the players and identifying the right solutions, and the right thing to do.

When training to play tennis, the results were way better than when he was giving them clear instructions and telling them exactly what to do

A lot of people, get confused between coaching and mentoring.

The differences are way big, there's a huge and big difference between coaching and mentoring

Mentoring means that you need to get someone who is an expert in the field. To share his experience.

A good mentor is someone who is exactly from the field that is mattering, someone who spent years in the field, but his mattering the people.

Coaching is the total opposite of this term of mentoring.

Coaching is that all the answers are within the person in front of us whether individual or a group.

Mentoring is by giving solutions, Coaching is by asking questions.

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Coaching is mostly about the future, something that can be achieved in the future. while Counseling is about something that we are healing someone from something in the past.

The coach is not a therapist

What is the difference between coaching and teaching?

Teaching is totally different than coaching, despite the fact that we highly recommend that teachers use coaching skill when they are teaching.

Coaching also is different than a chat with your friend or your colleague at work.

if you just run paid traffic, and you don't ever show up on your Facebook page to give value or to talk to your audience, then it becomes a little bit harder.

organic reach has gotten really tough.

Facebook and Instagram, operate from a paid traffic standpoint, off the same platform.

It can be a really good thing, because you can use Instagram ads, and leverage the following that you have on Facebook.

There are pros and cons to every platform.

Keep showing up for your audience. And in little snippets of value, and every single day.

Pick one thing that you can find comfort with, and that you can keep up with in terms of frequency, be consistent, and then just show up consistently.

As a coach, prove it on one platform, channel, all of your budget, your revenue, your paid budget, into that one platform, crack the code on it, make sure you understand the funnel works, the ads work the I understand my audience now.

Take that learning and put it in other platforms, and then start to adjust to the nuances of those other platforms.

What does the word coach or coaching mean to people?

Highly probable that the majority will refer to whether a basketball coach a soccer coach, football coach, tennis coach.

The origin of the coaching industry started with a tennis instructor called Tim Galloway.

He changed the concept of instruction to another concept, which is asking questions now.

In fact, when applying the same concept and methodology of coaching to increase corporate performance, results were easy to measure and bringing no doubt that this new skill is what companies need to unleash the true potential of their teams.

Now, coaching is one of the most growing industries in the world.

It's everywhere, every field every expertise, we need coaches as it's not about the concept. It's not about what we are doing exactly. It's about letting our team's letting our group members letting our leaders or our managers think and being involved in identifying the solutions.

Today, to be honest, it's a special episode for so many reasons. Our guest today, I met her I think 2017 or 2018, in one big leadership event in Orlando, and we connected and each and every time since 2017, I think I discovered a new, a new skill, a new good thing that it's happening with her.

So and I was sharing with her like just before start recording a new one what to explore today to get the maximum benefit of our meeting.

1- The more you travel, the more you see and learn new things that you can't recognize.

How can you qualify the level of awareness of the general person of himself, his strength, and whatever round?

By the time people make it to Coaches, they usually have a reasonable level, like they've started their journey.

They are aware that they are getting in their own way.

They are aware that they have some self-sabotaging kinds of patterns.

I started to discover that leveraging tools like the enneagram, for example, because it gives us a really great insight.

There are these polarities, these extremes on either side of the spectrum of what are you really built for capable of? What are the traits that really define you? And on the other side? What are the things that are going to suck you dry? Or take you out?

Expansive, what we're capable of, and how powerful we are.

We get stuck in what I like to call our ego space. subconscious self-protective.

Until we change the way that we think about things, we can't build that new frame of reference.

Anytime we're going to change something, we want to change our attachment to all of these patterns.

Growth journey is not like flowers, and butterflies, everything is simple.

The first time I read Robert Kiyosaky book Rich Dad Poor dad, I felt as if Robert was talking about me and telling my story. How was that and how it was reflected on my entrepreneurial life?

I still remember that night in Nusa Dua in Bali like yesterday, It was the last holiday I’ve had while I was working as an employee,

It seems that the beauty of the place and the moment played a big part in pushing me to quit my job and start the entrepreneurial experience .

That night was very special, as during which I tasted one of the best dishes I’ve ever experienced until that day.

Both me and my wife couldn’t decide what to eat that night, while enjoying a second to non breeze and the magic sound of the beach waves so we decided to ask the waiter to recommend something for us , as we usually do when we travel. The rest is a new, different, strange, amazing taste of a well done Mie goreng with such a mixing of texture, colours, spices, smells, I still can feel the taste now

I wanted to share that today,

I’m a big fan of food, and cooking new things in general, in fact

my wife always tells me that I’m the king of sandwiches, of all types, as well as Pizzas and Crepes, I’ve my own set of pans and other tools in the Kitchen as cooking is a moment of joy for me with each meal of dish I cook, especially when I see Ihssen or the kids enjoying each every bite or spoon.

Considering the fact that I’ve lived in 3 continents, and being a big fan of travel, I’m having fun mixing different cuisines that I’ve experienced and tasted in different parts of the world and usually it works great, with new tastes.

I’m really thinking of opening a restaurant, or small sandwich chain, after a few years.

In fact I guess what attracted me to this entrepreneurial word, or business building, coaching, and maybe restaurants, was the fact that I’m a true living example of Robert Kiyosaki Book : Rich Dad, Poor Dad,

I remember the first time I’ve read the book, I said, Boy, he’s talking about me, as my Dad how was an Assist Agriculture Engineer, was educated, a big reader, and very strict in terms or rules and importance of education and did his best to pass the same to us, My eldest brother, my Sister and me, He amazingly succeeded with the help of my mother to manage the limited employment salary to grant us a decent life, without a feel that we’re poor, and to make sure we all succeed our education and get good jobs. On the other hand, I had my uncle, my mother’s brother, who was not educated at all, and had a mechanics garage. My uncle, in fact was almost the only one not educated in both my father and my mother families, but he was doing more than all my aunts and uncles doing together, living a good life, travelling whenever he wants, helping whoever in need in the family and loved by everyone, and mostly enjoying and loving his job.

It happens that the big family spend the summer holidays in my uncle’s big house, fully sponsored by him, and I was always watching and admiring him, in fact my first business, immediately after graduated from the university was a car repair center, I don’t thing it was a random choice, I guess both consciously and unconsciously I was positively inspired by my Rich dad.

I’ll say that I was very lucky living between those 2 world, and my life got shaped by both of them, yes I learned the importance of entrepreneurship and freedom from my oncle, after 3 decades of my life I got the habit of books reading from my dad, and today I’m doing an average of 50 books per year, I even started writing books, so …

This is my story between a Rich Dad and strict to the rules dad.
