It was Monday, December 16th, 1974. Henry Bedard, Jr. had gone right after school to buy a final Christmas present for his sister and was on his way home. Several people saw Henry on his walk back, even though he was not taking his normal route home. But he never made it home at all. When a group of young boys playing along the route stumbled upon a wallet and a bottle of perfume, they hid the items so they could return to the spot and get them later. However, when they returned to the spot, they made a far more gruesome discovery.

We welcome our very first guest, retired Chief, FBI Crisis Negotiation Unit, Gary Noesner.

Noesner worked for the FBI for more than 30 years as an investigator and instructor. As a hostage negotiator, he defused prison riots, government standoffs with right-wing militias, overseas kidnappings, and terrorist embassy takeovers. His career trajectory coincided with many significant events in the evolution of hostage negotiation at the FBI.

In 2010, Noesner released Stalling for Time: My Life as an FBI Hostage Negotiator, detailing his time working at the bureau. In the memoir, he wrote about the various standoffs he has been involved in, including Waco – his involvement as a negotiator in this crisis would change the FBI forever.

Their bodies were discovered weeks to sometimes only hours later, most discovered along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County, Maryland. Se suponía que iba a ser un día divertido en el parque cuando Noema, junto con su hijo de 3 años, se reunió con su hija de 5 años y su hermana de 8 años en la parada del autobús después de la escuela. It was supposed to be a fun day at the park when Noema, along with her 3-year-old son, met both her 5-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old sister at the bus stop after school. She took the kids to get ice cream before heading to Bridgeton City Park in New Jersey on September 16th, 2019. Noema’s son and daughter bounded out of the car to begin playing with she stayed behind in the car to help her sister with homework before they would join in the fun. However, not even 30 minutes into their visit, the day became a nightmare for Noema when she realized that her son was still on the playground but that her 5-year-old daughter, Dulce, was nowhere to be seen. Now, more than three years later, we are still asking, “What happened to Dulce Alavez?”

The night of October 24, 1953, was a busy one in La Crosse, Wisconsin as La Crosse State College was celebrating homecoming weekend. Fifteen-year-old Evelyn Hartley had accepted a babysitting job for a local college professor and had just settled down to do some school work when the Rasmussen family had left her in the care of their 20-month-old daughter. But, when Evelyn didn't call her parents at 8:30 to check in with them as she had promised to do, her father grew concerned. Even more alarming was when he arrived at the Rasmussen home to find signs of an apparent break-in yet no sign of his daughter.

The investigation into Claudia Lawrence’s disappearance first appeared as though it would be one that could be quickly solved. But one very public comment by police changed the course of the investigation into one in which no one seemed to want to get involved. It is a case of video footage and DNA… but no answers.
