Hey Pickles!

We're getting back into our normal routine after the holidays, and we want to focus on Veganuary!

Before we get into all of that, we have our first recipe of 2023 from our Vegan Cookbook Challenge.
This week we make an amazing soup from the book Hot For Food All Day by  Lauren Toyota.

This is a fantastic book from one of Canada's premier vegan chefs. There's over 100 great vegan recipes for you to try, and we're looking forward to trying more of them!

We give tips for new vegans, and some mistakes that you should try to avoid.
We'll let you know why going vegan is the best New Year's resolution to make in 2023.
We'll also give you one of 72 reasons to be vegan!

We're excited for the new year. and all that it will bring.

Hey Pickles!

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2023! We hope you had a good holiday season and a good New Years. 

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the terrible winter storm that we had here in the Buffalo area. 

We consider ourselves fortunate to have had minimal damage, and only lost our heat for a short time on Christmas Eve.

This week we talk all about New Years. We give you some fun facts about the holiday, and explore some traditions. 

We also share some of the intentions that we have for the coming year.

Hey Pickles!

We're taking a short break to spend time with our families. We're in the midst of Winter Storm Elliot, and have been snowed in for a few days.

Hey Pickles!

We were foiled by the snow this week, and couldn't make it to the Holiday Market as we planned. We got about 35 minutes away from home and the storm forced us to turn around & head for home.

Happy Holidays to you! This week, we fill you in on some really cool stuff we've been up to!

We continue our Vegan Cookbook Challenge with a recipe from The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook by Dinah Bucholz! We do a festive holiday drink recipe!

Our main topic this week is how to navigate a non vegan world during the holidays.
This episode is inspired by an episode that The Bearded Vegans did a few years ago titled, “ How to be a good advocate for animals during the holidays”.  We'll link to their episode down in the links section.
We give you a few tools, and ideas to make attending holiday gatherings a little less stressful, and help you to identify when to advocate, and when to keep quiet in these situations.

We hope you're enjoying the last weeks of autumn. It's exciting to know that the return of brighter, and longer days are ahead!

Hey Pickles!

We have a lot to be thankful for this week. Sam's Father had open heart surgery.
Everything went to plan and he is at home recovering. We can all breathe a sigh of relief.

We're thankful for YOU for all of your messages of support during this stressful time.

We had a couple of disturbing sightings along the road recently in our travels between WNY and Pittsburgh.

We made a recipe for our Vegan Cookbook Challenge from the book, Cauliflower - Recipes For Salads, Sandwiches, Entrees, and More.
Cauliflower is such a versatile food, and this book has so many creative ways to use it!
