Cousins on Crime

When a young mother took her son out for what should have been a quick late-night trip to the grocery store, no one suspected it would be the last time they saw her. By the next morning, after hours with no word and no sign of her return, her roommates suspected something was very wrong.

The Kindness That Killed - Lori Bray | DarkDialogue

Obituary information for Lori Bray

November 9, 1994 was an ordinary Wednesday night for Laura Hoelscher and her husband, Darren, until they were startled by gunfire across the street. Rushing to their living room window, they witnessed their neighbor, Farah Fratta, fall to her garage floor and a masked man escape in a getaway car. Zeroing in on who wanted Farah dead would be the easy part, but proving it wouldn't be.

Dr. Thomas Burchard, a pediatric psychiatrist, was exceptional at taking care of others. Though he had good intentions, his habit of sending money to pretty women who were down on their luck, was not a good look for the esteemed doctor. Soon, he'd cross paths with one young woman who would take much more than his money.

Tyshika Askins was a beautiful, 22-year-old mother with her whole life ahead of her. She was responsible and organized, which is why her baby’s father, Alonza Dennis, grew concerned when she didn’t arrive to pick up their 2-year-old son. After finding her lifeless body in the bedroom of her apartment, police immediately zeroed in on Alonza as their prime suspect. With the circumstantial evidence piling up against Alonza, investigators were stunned when a crucial piece of evidence excluded him from the crime scene.
