Seit dem erfolgreichen Befreiungskampf der Sklaven werden in Haiti demokratische Entwicklungen regelmäßig von Diktatoren unterbrochen. Die Dynastie der Duvaliers trägt Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts maßgeblich zur Verfestigung dieses Zustandes bei. Mit Staatsterror und Korruption unterwerfen sie sich das Land.

Die Borgia waren die vielleicht berüchtigtste Adelsfamilie der Renaissance. Ihr zweifelhafter Ruf war dabei nicht allein ein Produkt der effektiven Propaganda ihrer Gegner, ihr kreativer Umgang mit den Normen und Gewohnheiten ihrer Zeit trug mindestens ebenso sehr dazu bei. Im Podcast reden David und Felix vor allem über Lukrezia Borgia, die Tochter Papst Alexanders VI., deren Leben lange von den politischen Winkelzügen ihres Vaters und den Ambitionen ihres Bruders Cesare geprägt wurde, ehe sie sich als Herzogin von Ferrara den Respekt ihrer Zeitgenossen erarbeiten konnte.
