  • Most Workers Want To Stay Working Remotely
Over the past year, working remotely has become normal. The novelty of the ironing board desks and kitchen banter with housemates has long worn off and now, employees are starting to think ahead to what the work week will look like when things start to revert back to the before time.
A new study has found that 95% of workers don't want to go back fully to the days of being in the office full time.
The second annual 'Remote Working Survey' by NUI Galway and the Western Development Commission has found that the majority of people would like to work remotely several times a week and cited greater flexibility, increased productivity and an easier life as their main reasons for the change.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Tomás Ó Síocháin, CEO of the Western Development Commission, revealed how many of the respondents said they work longer hours when they're not in the office, and the impact the change to our workday has had on teams.

  • The Invisible Threads That Built Ireland's LBGTQ+ Community
It's hard to believe but it's been six years since Ireland became the first country in the world to vote to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote. While this has been a massive step forward in the rights for the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland, there's still many steps to go.
Now, a new GoLoud original podcast is looking at the people who spent so much of their lives in the closet, in the background or fighting for their rights in a 70s and 80s Ireland that is a million miles from the world we live in now.
'Invisible Threads' features eight powerful interviews with eight people on everything from conversion therapy to coming out as an older person.
Host James O'Hagan, along with one of the participants, Louise Hannon spoke to Dermot and Dave about the series and why it's so important to continue telling these stories.

  • Why Perfectionism Isn't Perfect At All
Being 'perfect' or a 'perfectionist' is something that a lot of people pride themselves on. Whether it's using it in a job interview as one of your 'positive traits' or pushing ourselves to have the 'perfect' game of golf, the word 'perfect' is seen as a aspirational and positive.
Until it's not and it begins to negatively impact on our lives, stopping us from doing things or causing us stress and upset.
Fiona Brennan from The Positive Habit joined Dermot and Dave for a Mind Yourself Now special where she tackled the issue of perfectionism and how you can escape being trapped in the cycle of it.

  • Drones Might Be The Secret Tool For Finding Treasure
The National Monuments Service recently confirmed that log-boats found in the River Boyne in Co. Louth could date back to medieval times..
