  • How Will Ulster Bank Closing Impact Their Customers?
It's been long rumoured but confirmation has finally come that Ulster Bank, the third largest in the State, will be closing over the next couple of years. The bank, which has been in Ireland for 160 years, currently employees around 2800 staff in the Republic, has 88 branches and around 1.1 million customers.
While those in charge at Ulster Bank immediately reassured customers that nothing would be changing in the immediate, there's still a lot of very anxious people who have mortgages, loans or savings with them.
Ian Curran, reporter with TheJournal.ie, joined Dermot and Dave to explain how we've gotten to this point, what the closure will mean and the greater implications for the Irish banking industry.

  • 'You Need To Be Honest': Irish Mother Details Her Experience Of Postnatal Depression
Having a baby leads to a world of emotions but for thousands around the country, it can also lead to postnatal depression.
Nicola Fallon first felt something was off just weeks after giving birth to her son, Louis. While initially it was assumed that she was suffering with the 'baby blues', things developed very quickly, and seriously, for Nicola.
After six months living with PND and a chance conversation with a friend, Nicola was admitted to psychiatric care in Galway and later St Patricks' Mental Hospital in Dublin where she spent 5 months.
Now, Nicola is feeling 'stronger than ever' and she joined Dermot and Dave to chat about her road to recovery and to reinforce the importance of getting help if you're not feeling yourself after welcoming a child.
If you think you are experiencing postnatal depression, help is important and available. Contact your GP to discuss how you're feeling or if you need to talk to someone now, call or text the Samaritans on 116123.
Nicola's story will feature on a new series 'Turas Clainne' on TG4, Thursdays at 8pm.

  • Have You Ever Seen Guinness Poured This Way?
Irish people are very particular with their Guinness, so I'm not sure how this would go down now.
For Dave's World, Dave brought us back in time to an old Irish pub where black and white footage shows the bar staff serving their pints of Guinness in a very peculiar way.

In this video you see the usage of an alternative method of pulling a pint of Guinness that was unfortunately lost in the 1960s, called the “high and low” system.
A thread on this lost method of pint pulling
