  • What Covid-19 Notifications You Need To Look Out For On Your Phone
Many people across Ireland have been confused of late.
It’s after receiving a notification on their phone, saying they’ve been in close contact with someone that may have had Covid-19.
Well it turns out this is just a glitch from Apple and Google and is nothing to do with Ireland’s Covid-19 tracker app.
The issue is believed to lie with the underlying exposure notification application software rather than the Covid Tracker Ireland app.
Jess Kelly the Presenter of Tech Talk, available on the GoLoud App, spoke to Dermot & Dave this morning about the confusion.

  • What Songs Should You Play For Your Kids While They Are In The Car
We all remember it! Going it on a car journey as a kid and listening to whatever music your parents wanted to.
Well, it turns out this is having more of an affect on our children then you may think.
Listener Brian got in touch with Dermot & Dave this week with a dilemma - he had gotten into an argument with his wife over the type of music he was playing for their children in the car.
Brian, who is an avid heavy metal fan had been playing Sliptknot for his son, but his wife thinks that not suitable. This then sparked a huge debate on the show as to what songs are appropriate to play when kids are in the car.
Hit play to hear Brian's full chat with Dermot & Dave below.

  • The 'Funniest Comedy To Hit TV In Years' Is Finally Available To Stream In Ireland
Our Maria has made a huge claim, she reckons the funniest TV show in years has finally come to Ireland.
She is of course talking about “Ted Lasso,” a new original comedy series from Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence.
Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.
In addition to starring, Sudeikis serves as executive producer, alongside Lawrence (“Scrubs”) via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold also serves as an executive producer with Liza Katzer as co-executive producer.
The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, and is based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports.
Maria told us about about it in her Telly news today - hit pay on the podcast below to hear more details.

  • Father Ted Legend Talks Big Change That Happened After Season 1 Of The Show
    That’s Mad Ted!
It seems like some stuff may have changed half way through Father Ted and we didn't even notice.
This morning on Dermot & Dave, the lads were joined by Pauline McLynn who famously played Mrs Doyle in the Channel 4 show.
She was on the speak about An Post releasing a set of four fun stamp designs marking 25 years of legendary sit-com, Father Ted.  The stamps feature iconic one- liners now linked to each of the four main characters: “That’s mad, Ted” (Fr Dougal);  “That would be an ecumenical matter” (Fr Jack
Retro wallpaper in the background of each stamp matches the different rooms in the Craggy Island Parochial House.
The specially designed stamp booklet (€5.70) by Dublin’s Detail Design Studio contains five stamps celebrating the characters, their famed catchphrases and the world created by Father Ted.
Four €1 N rate stamps cover postage in Ireland (including Craggy Island), with a €1.70 ‘W’ rate stamp for postage worldwide.
But while on Pauline revealed that the design team on the show changed after the first season, so eager eyed viewers will notices that the set actually changed a lot in the second season.

  • Secret Stairs, Lifts And Much More - The Fascinating Life Inside A Wind Turbine
We all look at them and wonder what's going on inside!
Well, this morning Dermot & Dave got to the bottom of just how a wind turbine works in Ask Me Anything.
As of 2020 the Republic of Ireland has 3700 megawatt of installed wind power nameplate capacity.
In 2015 wind turbines generated 23% of Ireland's average electricity demand, one of the highest wind power penetration in the world. Ireland's 250 wind farms  are almost exclusively onshore, with only the 25 MW Arklow Bank Wind Park situated offshore as of 2020.
But, what is life like inside the turbines? Well some of the smaller ones have ladders that will bring engineers all the way to the top, while the bigger turbines - which can be seen in the Midlands - have a small lift, which can take those who to work on the them right to the top.
Liam spoke to Dave this morning on Ask Me Anything - hit play on the podcast below to hear more.
