  • Explained: Why Britney's Sister Is Taking Control Of Her Finances
It's been a tough few months for pop star Britney Spears.
The 'Baby One More Time' singer has been legally under a conservatorship for over a decade now. Her father, Jamie, and a lawyer have been charge of her estate and her finances since 2008.
While active for many years, the last few months have seen a surge of support for the #FreeBritney movement which calls for the convervatorship to be lifted. Those supporting the movement maintain that she has been controlled and has no say on any decisions at all in her life.
There appeared to be some change on the cards when the singer went to court to seek the removal of her father as the sole conservator of her estate but it has instead been extended until February of 2021.
Now, Britney's sister Jamie Lynn Spears has filed in court for more control of a trust fund set up for Britney's children.
Dermot and Dave producer Maria Devereux has been following the developments and explained what's happening and what it means for Britney Spears and her family.

  • Banshee? Wind Turbine? What On EARTH Made This Noise In Kerry?
Picture the scene, it's the middle of the night, there's just been thunder and lightning and then you hear a loud screaming noise coming from the distance.
That's what happened to Orla in Kerry when she encountered a 'really loud' and 'very strange' noise after a storm.
So she did the logical thing-recorded it and sent it to Dermot and Dave.
On Dave's World, we tried to get to the bottom of what caused the incredibly spooky noise.

  • Irish Mammy Creates Workplace Wellness Plan For The Home
How do you get your family more active and feeling better without causing chaos and rows? Every family wants to get out and about, go for picnics and eat better but typically find that there's one (or two or three) people who have a different plan.
During lockdown, Rachel Mescall came up with a clever idea to stop the rows once and for all and get the family involved in creating memories.
After studying the WHO guidelines on workplace wellness in college, Rachel decided to come up with a family wellness plan and trial it on her own family.
With just a few simple steps, they've come up with some brilliant ideas from picnics to cycling.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Rachel explained how it works and why it's less about competing with the lycra-clad family down the road and more about finding what works for your family.

  • What's The Difference Between A Graveyard And A Cemetery
It's the question we've always wanted to know the answer to!
And how better to inform us then Dave Moore.
The word cemetery implies that the land is specifically designated as a burial ground and originally applied to the Roman catacombs. The term graveyard is often used interchangeably with cemetery, but a graveyard primarily refers to a burial ground within a churchyard.
Dave filled us in on more interesting facts today in Dave's World.

  • Should A Child Go To School If They've A Runny Nose? - Back To School Health Questions Answered
It was all about back to school on Dermot & Dave this morning.

It comes as the Department of Health released his back to school guidelines for GP's so they could advise parents on what situations it isn't safe to send their children into a classroom.
THE ADVICE SAYS PARENTS SHOULD NOT SEND THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL IF THEIR CHILD:
has a temperature of above 38C
    displays coronavirus symptoms
was in close contact with a confirmed case
living with someone who is unwell and may have coronavirus
IF THE CHILD HAS ANY OF THE ABOVE, PARENTS SHOULD:
    isolate their child
    phone their GP
restrict movements of their child and those who live with them until diagnosis from a GP
treat their child at home for their symptoms
Dr. Maitiu O Tuathail - General Practitioner & Past HSE Lead NCHD in GP joined Dermot & Dave this morning to chat about the rules.
