  • Broken Limbs And Scraped Knees: How Lockdown Has Changed Playtime
While the past couple of weeks have been incredibly tough for all of us, this morning Dermot and Dave looked at one of the major benefit of lockdown which has been children getting out and about playing.
With no school, no organised sport, no play-dates and no being ferried around in the car from place to place, children have more time than ever.
We heard from listeners all around the country who haven't seen their children from dusk until dawn as they climb trees, make forts and do all the wonderful things the outdoors can bring.

  • Should We Build Roads Through Fairy Forts? Irish Archaeologist Weighs In
For some they're mythical creatures that exist only in stories, for others they are other worldly beings that need to be respected at all costs, even if it means bending roads around them. It turns out that a lot of people have strong feelings about fairies and fairy forts.
Dermot and Dave spoke to listener Valerie Kelly from Galway who has gone from studying archaeology to teaching the luge to working on some of the biggest sites in the country as an archaeologist.
She revealed all about life as an archaeologist, gave her take on whether roads should be built around fairy forts and revealed how she once thought she'd found Shergar in Naas.

  • It Turns Out 'Knickers' Are The Most Popular Item In Penney's Among Irish Women
All Penney's stores with on-street access reopened at 10:30am this morning, while those in shopping centres will reopen on Monday.
Limits on the number of customers allowed in and strict social distancing rules will form part of the “rigorous health and safety measures” the company has put in place for the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, all fitting rooms will be closed off, along with toilets, cafés and beauty stands. The company said all returns will be “managed in line with government advice.”
This morning on Dermot & Dave, Seán from the team decided to go to down and meet some of the people who had been queuing all night to be one of the first in store this morning.
While down there Seán asked some of the people waiting in line what they were going to buy when the doors opened, and here is the top 5.

  • Matt Cooper Talks About His Relationship With Cal Thomas Off-Air
This week in the hot seat for Ask Me Anything was none other then Matt Cooper, presenter of the Last Word here on Today FM.
Matt spoke to Dermot & Dave about everything from his love of the Kardashians to how he thinks the Irish Government are handling the Covid-19 situation.
But one of the most popular questions that came in was about one of the contributes to his show, Cal Thomas. For those of you who are unaware, Cal appears alongside journalist Marion McKeon on The Last Word where they debate the biggest stories of the week in the USA.
Cal is a Republican and would be a supporter of Donald Trump and his administration, and this often leads to a clash of heads between Matt and himself on-air.
However, when asked about their relationship off-air by Dermot & Dave, Matt revealed the pair get on "extremely well" and that Cal has even visited Matt in Dublin a number of times.
Matt has also visited Cal's home in the United States, and although the two don't see eye to eye on some political issues, they are the best of friends.
