  • Meath Teacher Thinks Schools 'Can't' Reopen While Social Distancing Is In Place
This week on Ask Me Anything, Dermot & Dave were joined by a Primary Teacher.
Schools have been shut here since mid-March due the Covid-19 restrictions and teachers have had to adapt to a new way on working with their students.
Padraig Gaffney spoke to the lads all about this e-learning, including how it's hard for some children to work using technology, as they many come from families who don't have access to high speed internet.
Padraig also said that he doesn't believe schools can resume while social distancing is in place.
He revealed that most children in his school share desks, and
with the size of his classroom and the amount of children in it, it would be impossible to have all pupils back in at once.

  • Dave's World - What Do You Call A Mr. Freeze?
It wouldn't be one of Dave's World Cup's if it wasn't dividing the nation.
But, this time it's not even the matches that are making people angry, it's the name of one of the ice creams involved.
It all stems from the match between the Mr.s Freeze (as Dave calls it) and the Ice Burger. Although the competition was tight, most people were more concerned the name Dave had given a 'freeze pop'.
This got the nation talking, and you wouldn't believe the different variations of names that came in for the one product.

  • Georgie Crawford: From Beating Cancer To Running In The Snow Covered Swiss Alps
Today FM listeners are no strangers to Georgie Crawford's story.
Back in 2018 she spoke to The Last Word about her cancer diagnoses just months after giving birth to her young daughter, Pia.
Over the last few years she has shared her journey with Today FM listeners a number of times, while also launching her own podcast The Good Glow.
This morning on Dermot & Dave, Georgie spoke about her new documentary, which follows her journey from never exercising to running 12km over snow and ice in the Swiss Alps back in January with her husband, Jamie.
For her, it’s been a hugely emotional journey and she wants to show people that you have a right to change your mind and that it’s never too late to start something, and you can overcome things.
In the doc, she mentions that she was ‘embarrassed’ to run in the past and one of the reasons she left her job was realising that she had no time for herself and after being sick, she knew that needed to change.
