  • Bob Geldof "When I Sing 'Someone's Looking At You' It's Now For Zuckerburg Staring At Me Sucking Up My Information"
Bob Geldof kicks off his chat with Dermot & Dave by apologising for his bunged-up voice, jokingly claiming he's caught the coronavirus from his cat.
Geldof is back with the Boomtown Rats with a brand new studio album 'Citizens of Boomtown Rats'.
They've just released their first new track from the album, 'Trash Glam Baby' and Geldof was in rare form, chatting to the lads about how he now sings some of his biggest songs to new audiences but the messages are still as valid today as they were back in the late 70s.
He also relived his short-lived career as a would-be astronaut and gave his thoughts on the pop music scene in 2020.

  • Noni's Last Ditch Attempt For Votes Ahead Of The General Election
Here's Noni's final campaign speech ahead of GE2020.
Our Limerick lady is urging people to Vote Chawwwklit and Vote Noni Number 1.
According to Noni we have turned our back on old Ireland.
An Ireland when "we could smoke in mass, and telly didn't start until 4 o'clock in the day. When women drank babycham, cried in the utility room, and had the same haircut for 40 years"
The little minx also had a thing or two to say about the alternatives to voting for Noni, "Fine Gael are like a king size double decker, you think it’s gonna feel different but it’s just more of the same kiid.
Fianna Fáil, they’re like eating a Flake, starts out great but pretty soon they wreck the place.
And Sinn Féin are like Turkish Delight – seriously dodgy."
That last part is a bit rich coming from Noni.

  • Irish Lads Save Up €30,000 Over Five Years To Celebrate Turning 40 With An Epic Trip
Turning 40 for some people can be a little bit depressing.
But not for this group of Irish lads who have been planning and saving up for the trip of a lifetime for the last five years
Back in 2014, Ian and his friend came up with the idea of organising a group holiday for when all ten of them turned 40, they will all have hit the milestone birthday between late last year and the middle of this year.
So they set up a bank account and they each contributed, via standing orders, €50 every month.
Here's the maths: €50 a month for five years by ten people works out at €30,000.
Ian and his mates got busy planning an incredible joint 40th birthday trip with €30,000 to play with!
On the 2nd of March, they’re heading to Tampa for three nights, staying at a luxury villa, then it's on to Cocoa Beach, two nights in Miami and wrapping up with three nights in New Orleans
They'll squeeze in a trip to the Everglades on the fan boats, an ice hockey game, and a trip to the Kennedy Space Centre including lunch with an astronaut along the way with a heap of BBQ’s, beer, music and dancing thrown in.
    Can we all go?!
Ian says the most important thing is that they all get to spend time with each other, as they're all aware that life can take over when kids arrive and they don’t all get together as a group very often.
If you want some serious FOMO or you want to use the story as inspiration for your own group trip you can keep up-to-date with Ian, Dave, Cormac, Lar, Gaz, Brian D, Brian C, Phil H, Phil D and Niall on their Instagram account.

  • Is This The Worst Delivery Of A Chat Up Line Ever?
Dermot & Dave producer Maria was watching Love Island last night when she was subjected to - what may be - the worst chat up line we've ever heard.
Everything from the delivery to what is actually said makes you want to jump into bed, pull the covers over your head and hit control alt delete on this moment from your life.
Maria also wrapped up the best entertainment news from around the world which included what JLo ate in the lead up to the Super Bowl half time show and what Kylie Jenner eats for breakfast (spoiler: it's horrific)

  • Kevin Kilbane On Dancing On Ice Romance: "We've Fallen In Love And That's It"
Former Republic of Ireland footballer, Kevin Kilbane joined Dermot & Dave this morning after being voted off ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ over the weekend.
Kilbane found himself in the ‘skate off’ last night with his professional dance partner, Brianne Delcourt, who he met on the show and is now in a relationship with.
On leaving ‘Dancing on Ice’ last night
“I actually thought we’d be gone last week, so this week was bonus time. In fairness, the other six (contestants) were way better than me so I kind of knew I was on borrowed time really. I was genuinely way behind everybody else the whole way through, so I knew that I was on catch-up the whole time.”
“It was hard work all the whole way through but I just tried to enjoy it as much as I could.”
Kevin told listeners of the gruelling rehearsal schedule in the months leading up to the skating contest:  “It was intense, the length of time that you have to apply to the training. Initially you were doing 30 hours before you ever got with your pro (dance partner).”
On his relationship with his pro-partner Brianne Delcourt
Dermot & Dave teased Kevin about his new relationship with this dance partner: ““Oh you got with your pro alright!. You guys make a very cute couple.”
Asked who made the first move, Kevin admitted: “It was me, I made the first move, and I got a custard pie to start with. I asked her out and she said no and then it just happened.”
“I genuinely do feel blessed because we were both single going into it and that was the beauty of it all….it just happened, it was just natural. It’s not been anything forced, we’ve fallen in love and that’s it.”
Kevin insisted this relationship is more than just a holiday romance: “Of course we’ve had fun going through it all but I think once feelings start to come into play and you start to discuss futures, that’s when it becomes very real. The whole experience has been great but it was great because I met Brianne.”
