Listen / Watch the full episode to be release this Sunday on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Android Podcasts. In this episode we try to pair 3 wines with Korean Army Stew (also known as Budae Jjigae). Korean Army Stew is a stew made of instant ramen noodles, kimchi, tofu, mushrooms, veggies, spam, sausages, cheese, in thick, savoury and slightly chilli soup base. Pairing something spicy and chilli is always a challenge but we thought we’d try to pair it with a Castello Del Poggio Moscato, Italy ($14 from @DanMurphysLiquor ) and a 2020 Mader Gewurztraminer, Alsace, France ($50 from @annandalecellars7702 ). Trent also brought a bonus wine to try, a Korean Rice Wine called Makkoli. During the episode we also discuss the use of Sode Stream’s with wine, what are lees, and Trent shares a wine of the week - 2016 Annies Lane Cabernet Merlot ($19 from @DanMurphysLiquor ).
