Rhodri Thomas, BDS, graduated with Honors from Cardiff University. His background as an artist spurred his love of aesthetic dentistry, and he now dedicates his work towards truly blending dentistry into nature with his clinical focus on advanced aesthetic restorative dentistry.

An internationally renowned educator and multi-award-winning dentist, Rhodri lectures and teaches around the world on the subject of aesthetics, presenting at conferences, running private courses, and publishing articles in leading dental magazines. Recently Rhodri has been teaching in Chicago, New York, Florida, London, Montreal, and Sweden.

He was the winner of the British Society of Prosthodontics Heraeus Kulzer Prize for his research on tooth wear, pioneered a new resin layering technique, and is also the author of a book based purely on resin artistry. Rhodri has been the youngest speaker for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a published author for the prestigious Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, and has received a record-breaking six consecutive national awards.

Passionate about teaching and sharing with other dental professionals, Rhodri is honored to be Resident Faculty at both The Center for Esthetic Excellence in Chicago and Stribe Dental in New York. He is also the founder and director of The Art of Dentistry, a series of unique international training programs and aesthetic-based courses for dentists. Dr. Markus B. Blatz is Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences and Assistant Dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also founded the Penn Dental Medicine CAD/CAM Ceramic Center, an interdisciplinary venture to study emerging technologies and new ceramic materials while providing state-of-the-art esthetic clinical care. Dr. Blatz graduated from Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, and was awarded additional Doctorate Degrees, a Postgraduate Certificate in Prosthodontics, and a Professorship from the same University.

Dr. Blatz is co-founder and past President of the International Academy for Adhesive Dentistry (IAAD) and a founding member of the European Academy of Digital Dentistry (EADD). He is a board-certified Diplomat in the German Society for Prosthodontics and Biomaterials (DGPro) and a member of multiple other professional organizations, including the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the International College of Prosthodontists, the American College of Prosthodontists (honorary member), Academy of Osseointegration, and O.K.U. Honor Dental Society. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, Associate Editor of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and of Quintessence International, Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics, and serves on the editorial boards of numerous other recognized scientific dental journals. He is coauthor of the international bestseller “evolution – contemporary protocols for anterior single-tooth implants”, which has been translated on over 8 languages.

Prior to joining Penn Dental Medicine as Chairperson of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences in September 2006, Dr. Blatz was at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Biomaterials and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research. During his tenure at LSU, Dr. Blatz also directed the Masters of Science in Oral Biology Program and was a senior faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics. From 1994 to 1998 he was an Assistant Professor and from 1998 to 1999 a senior faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics at Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg School of Dentistry in Freiburg, Germany.

A widely published and internationally respected lecturer, Dr. Blatz’s main focus within clinical practice and research is esthetic dentistry with an emphasis on implantology and dental materials, particularly ceramics and adhesion. Dr. Blatz is the recipient of multiple teaching and research awards and has published and lectured extensively on dental esthetics, restorative materials, and implant dentistry. He was recently named one of the “World’s Top 100 Doctors in Dentistry”.

Dr. Bobbi Stanley began her dental practice in Cary with the goal of providing superior dental services.

Dr. Bobbi Stanley graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1993 and continues to be an avid learner, attending countless hours of continuing education. She also believes providing superior dental services means using the best materials on the market with the highest technology available.

She is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (DICOI), and a Fellow at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). She is a Sustaining Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics (ICCMO), the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO), and is a Qualified Member of the Crown Council.

Dr. Stanley is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She is also a Board of Trustees member at her undergraduate alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is a Co-Founder and Senior Instructor at Stanley Institute for Comprehensive Dentistry in Cary, NC, and a Senior Instructor at the International Association of Orthodontics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and The Facial Beauty Institute in Memphis, Tennessee. Most recently, Dr. Stanley won Entrepreneur of the Year in the Triangle Business Journal’s 2019 Women in Business Awards.

Dr. Stanley’s personal philosophy is not only to live life but also to live it to the fullest. Her motivation to be the best in her field is matched only by her desire to be a great wife and loving mother of her four children. In 2017, Dr. Bobbi completed one of her bucket list items by successfully finishing the Louisville Ironman Triathlon.

Dr. Malament received his DDS from the NYU College of Dentistry and his specialty certificate and master’s degree from the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. Today, he has a full-time practice limited to prosthodontics in Boston that includes a dental laboratory with master dental technologists.

A past president of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Dr. Malament is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University and a Course Director in the Postgraduate Department of Prosthodontics.  He is a past president of the Academy of Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, Northeastern Gnathological Society, Northeastern Prosthodontic Society, and the American Academy of Dental Science. He has also served as the Secretary and Director of the American College of Prosthodontists and Secretary-Treasurer of the International College of Prosthodontists.

Dr. Malament has been the recipient of significant awards in prosthodontics, including the American College of Prosthodontists’ Clinician / Researcher Award, the Daniel F. Gordon Award for Lifetime Achievement, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics’ George Moulton Award for Outstanding Achievement, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics’ Distinguished Lecturer Award, the Schweitzer Award, and the John McLean Lecture Award from the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He was also the first to receive the Frank V. Celenza Memorial Award from the Northeastern Gnathological Society.

Dr. Malament was on the research teams for two different well-known ceramic products and developed instrumentation still used in clinical practice. Today, he is a consultant to three journals and has published significantly in dental literature. He is an in-demand speaker and is often asked to lecture about prosthodontic issues concerning ceramics, dental implants, and periodontics.

Sam Alawie completed his Master Dental Technician degree in Brussels, Belgium in 1994. He migrated to the United States in 2003 and opened his own full service dental laboratory in Beverly Hills, California. Sam is well versed on the importance of technical clinical communications and their implementations for successful case planning and patient satisfaction. He is a keen and avid supporter and member of many study groups. He instructed various hands-on crown and bridge courses and hosted presentations throughout Europe and the United States. 

In 2012, Sam opened a state-of-the-art educational facility, Oral Design Beverly Hills which offers a spacious venue where dental professionals and students can come together to advance their knowledge, practice their craft, and exchange ideas; offering a wide range of training programs, study groups, and continuing education courses, including advanced classes with world renowned dental specialists.

About Dr. Vanessa Cavalli Gobbo

Bachelor (DDS) in Dentistry from the University of Campinas (1999), MSc (2003), Specialist in Operative Dentistry (2003), PhD (2007) and Post-Doctorate in Dental Clinics (2014), at Piracicaba Dental School, University of Campinas. Developed part of the PhD research at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (2006), and participated in the Post-Graduation Program of the University of Taubaté (2007-2011) and was a faculty at São Leopoldo Mandic Dental Research Center (2014-2016). In 2016, began the activities as a faculty, in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Piracicaba Dental School (Unicamp). The research areas include the following topics: dental bleaching and its effect on the enamel and dentin; penetration of bleaching agents in the pulp chamber and analysis and performance of direct and indirect restorative materials.
