KINDRED SPIRITS

Thought all was lost

That I would never meet

My soul mate

Then you appeared

In desperate need

Of Love and Affection

Like me.

We were kindred spirits

Brought together by fate

Held together by love.

Salt Water is a poem about the emotional journey to self acceptance and the healing powers of shedding tears.

SALT WATER

Anxious and angry,

With no real reason why

Feeling broken and damaged,

Trying not to cry.

Things that happened long ago,

Seem fresh and new today

Hoping the anger doesn’t show

Wishing the hurt would just go away

Pray tomorrow will better

Hoping to feel renewed

But this day goes on forever

Annoyed, irritated and full of attitude.

Accept what is and let the tears fall,

Tell the painful past to be gone!

Emotional cleansing is the hardest of all

But necessary for life to go on.

Love affairs are amazing, when they're good and everyone is deliriously happy. But what happens when the thrill is gone and the relationship goes stale. You may decide that is is the best interest of both parties to go your separate ways. What's worse, is when one party begins to move on while the other is still in the relationship. The We That Was attempts to reminds us when love was good.

THE WE THAT WAS 

What happened?

We used to share everything.

Thoughts, dreams, fantasies,

Desires, you name it.

Suddenly, the sharing stopped,

And the secrecy began.

We grew apart.

You abandoned the love affair…

And me.

I guess some things 

Just weren’t meant to be.

That was the end 

Of you and me.

Being in love is probably one of the happiest phase of Love. Nothing is better than feeling complete. 

I'D CHOOSE YOU

Long before I met you,

I knew you in my heart

We spent much time together

And were almost never apart.

Days were filled with laughter,

And nights so full of heat.

Who knew what would come after

Would make my life complete.

But I never really knew you,

I’m dreaming once again

If I could, I’d choose you

As my lover and best friend.

Nothing warms a lonely heart like finding that one true love. You want to give your heart freely and accept love in return.

WITH THIS HEART

I take you, all of you, as my own

I take the sunshine, the rain and the floods that may come.

With this heart,

I take the good days

And those that may be tearful

I give you my all, so do not be fearful.

With this heart,

I come with no secrets

Cards on the table, without regrets

My imperfections, faults and flaws,

With this heart,

You must take it all.

If you are not ready, I totally understand

Perhaps it's not the time

To take you as my man.

With this heart,

I willingly walk away,

For childish games, I have no time to play.

Gripped 

By loneliness,

Frozen 

By fear.

Trying to find the courage

To love again.

My mind says

UNFUNNY GAMES 

To pretend nothing affects you or

That you couldn’t care less

Is not a show of strength or courage

You’re lying to yourself.

We’ve tried more than once,

And it’s always the same.

You get what you want, by playing

Unfunny Games.

You say things will be different,

That you will try harder.

You’ve lied again, I blame myself

I should have been smarter.

I’ve been down this road before

And not a thing has changed

You’re still all about you

And still playing
