In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the latest with contract extension talks with Dimitry Orlov. Dimitry is the number one Caps blue liner in John Carlson's absence. He has been eating up a lot of the minutes that John Carlson was when he was in the lineup.According to Pierre Lebrun Dimitry It sounds like the hang up is in the term of the deal. Dimitry is coming off a six year extension. The Caps are facing a re-build within the next couple of years - Do they want to give him a lengthy extension with this re-build looming. Later in the show Dan talks about an apparent lower body injury that Marcus Johansson suffered in the games vs the Panthers. Considering the lengthy list of injuries facing the Capitals if MoJo is out for a substantial period of time that is less than ideal considering the injuries to Tom Wilson and Nic Dowd. To close out the show Dan talks about if the Capitals are buyers or sellers at the deadline. Who could they potentially be targeting? March 3rd is the trade deadline.
