Most dividend investors know the dividend yield of their investments quite well. But far too many don't bother to consider the yield on cost of their investment. What is the yield on cost anyway? And why should you care about it? The yield on cost is the yield you are receiving on the cost of your original investment. It matters because certain high growth dividend stocks can give you a better yield on cost than high yield stocks over a longer period of time. If you have a long investing horizon then you need to understand the yield on cost and incorporate it into your decision process.

It's time to take a look at the best high yield dividend stocks for the month of October 2021. I ran my screener for the month and found 30 high yield dividend stocks that passed all the minimum requirements. The high yield dividend stocks were further ranked based on their metrics and will be presented in the ranking order. The average dividend yield of the September watchlist is 3.30%. 24 of these high yield dividend stocks are undervalued or fairly valued right now based on dividend yield theory. They are valuation and forecasted future growth. I take these two theories and leverage the results to formulate three unique strategies. I want to show you how to build a high yield dividend aristocrat portfolio that will pay a dividend every week of the year! Focusing only on dividend aristocrats I can ensure this portfolio is made up of some of the safest dividend stocks on the planet. Also by focusing on dividend aristocrats that pay a high yield I can ensure this portfolio will pay the highest yield possible. It will take either 11 or 13 dividend aristocrats to build this portfolio. Since most dividend aristocrats pay dividends on the same day each quarter it is pretty simple to build a weekly dividend income stream. Sometimes the dividend payment dates will vary due to holidays or weekends so the actual portfolio may not pay a dividend every week. But this will be the closest thing to a weekly high yield dividend aristocrat portfolio.
