On July 13th 2023 news broke across the world that the man allegedly responsible for the ‘Gilgo Beach Murders’ & the Long Island Serial Killer ( known by most as LISK) had finally been identified. 59 year old married father of 2 Rex Heuermann has been surrounded by police on the streets of Manhattan & taken into police custody .

This killer was also known by other monikers during his reign of terror such as: The Gilgo Beach Murderer, The Craigslist Ripper & The Manorville Butcher, however LISK was the most commonly used.

An elite specialist task force made up of top detectives & FBI specialists had been formed & had been working tirelessly to catch this illusive killer.

This was a pivotal moment in the investigation.

Finally after so many years of searching they began unlocking a chain of events & clues using dna & cellphone activity- that eventually uncovered who this sadistic, serial killer was once & for all .

His innocent victims became known as the Gilgo Beach 4 due to their remains being discovered very close to each other along Gilgo Beach. However, there are 6 other victims who could still potentially be linked to him.

This would make it 10 victims in total who some believe the LISK , who some believe maybe Heuermann, could be responsible for killing.

However the killer of the remaining victims displayed a different modus operandi.

Leading some to believe there may in-fact be two serial killers who were operating in the same area , both targeting sex workers .
