  • Ep 42 - 'Let The Kids Do The Raking' With Gerard Whateley
Corrie Perkin is joined by Gerard Whateley this week (while Caro enjoys the last few days of her holiday).
We begin with a discussion of the death of Eurydice Dixon and reflect on why this particular case has resonated so broadly and loudly across Australia.
As talk of sweeping budget cuts at the ABC progressed to suggestions from some liberal party members that our national broadcaster be sold off - Gerard and Corrie continue the debate on what can be done to save the ABC.
Gerard gives us his 'mid season analysis' of the 2018 AFL season. Can Richmond go all the way? And which team has proved the biggest disppointment so far?
In keeping with a footy theme Gerard shares a few insights into the post football career of much loved former Bulldog Bob Murphy, who not only has a new book coming out soon but a new TV show too.
In 'BSF'- Corrie can't wait for the podcast to finish so she can read the final pages of 'Home Fire' by Kamila Shamsie, Gerard has the perfect Netflix recommendation ('Brooklyn 99') if you need some light relief after binge watching an intense drama and Gerard serves up a family favourite and shares his recipe for 'Spaghetti Creole'.
The live streaming debacle surrounding the World Cup is making Gerard more than a little grumpy this week and in '6 Quick Questions' we find out which household chore Gerard refuses to do, Corrie updates us on the Royals post the wedding AND Gerard finally goes on the record to tell us which is the greater racehorse - Winx or Black Caviar?
Plus we've got a couple of Good Local Tips and it's Corrie's turn for 'Crush of the Week'.

  • Ep 41 - 'Tin-Rattling NOT Can-Shaking'
Join Caroline Wilson (in pre-holiday high spirits) and Corrie Perkin for Ep 41.
As budget cuts continue to squeeze the Australian Broadcasting Corporation we take a look at the importance of our national broadcaster plus Caro divulges a few ‘in house’ ABC issues she’s been privy to recently.
After the Sir Doug Nicholls indigenous round we discuss its success and areas that the AFL and the media could improve on when it comes to indigenous representation in the game. Caro and Corrie also look ahead to the Queen’s Birthday round and the success of the annual Motor Neuron Disease Ice Bucket Challenge.
We dissect the Barnaby Joyce & Vikki Campion interview – was it really worth $150,000 for the network? And where to for Barnaby from here.
In “BSF” Corrie’s been dining out on the beautiful new publication from chef Alla Wolf Taker ‘Three Decades On: Lake House and Daylesford’. On the small screen  Caro and Corrie have both been watching ‘Mystery Road’ on ABC TV and Corrie’s raving about her slow cooked brisket with coffee rub that she whipped up on the weekend.
Caro’s grumpy about the logistics involved in preparing for travel (international drivers’ licenses and passports included), we touch on footy, flying, bullying and more in “6 Quick Questions” and Corrie’s “Crush of the Week” is Serena (and Venus) Williams.

Join Caroline Wilson and Corrie Perkin for Episode 40!
Caro's been to the theatre to see Barry Humphries in "The Man Behind The Mask",  a show that had her skipping out of the theatre.
We ponder the state of department stores and the shopping landscape as another Melbourne icon, Myer goes into crisis mode.
As we edge towards the AFL Indigenous Round, Caro and Corrie look back at it's beginnings, the impact of indigenous players on the game and the AFL's role in promoting indigenous talent off the field.
In 'BSF' - Corrie highly recommends "Warlight" by Michael Ondaatje (definitely one for Book Clubs), Caro's been to the movies to see "The Bookshop" and inspired by another treat worthy round of golf, Corrie shares "Goldie's ANZAC Biscuit" recipe.
Corrie's grumpy about Theresa May and Caro's agitated by the state of Australia Post.
