After a week off from recording, we are back with two games to go over, and one to preview. The Union got four points from the two games against Miami and Orlando and we go over the good and the bad of those performances. From VAR to Martinez's suspension, there is plenty to discuss before we focus on the knockout round game against the Revs. Of course, because we can't just have a normal episode talking just about soccer, AJ had some "Letters To Orlando" that he wanted to share and Luke went on a rant about the underwhelming Charlotte FC brand unveiling. In the first game of the Union's run in MLS is Back Tournament, they beat NYCFC in a not exactly pretty 1-0 effort. We discuss that win, the BPC statement and what the Union did to support the Black Lives Matter movement, and the watching experience of the Orlando tournament. It feels really good to talk about a Union game and feels really really good to talk about a win. We were possibly thrown off by the addition of Ilsinho to the lineup but we discuss big performances from Aaronson, Mckenzie (Celtic what?) and Blake that took the boys in blue into match two with three points. There's also other stuff we cover with Nashville exiting the tournament and the new schedule the Union have in group stage.

Raimo de Vries came to the U.S. from the Netherlands to get an education and play college soccer at Wake Forest for Philly and U.S. soccer legend Walt Chyzowych. After turning pro with the Raleigh Flyers, he ended up on the Colorado Rapids in 1996, the first season of MLS. Now with MLS set to resume its 25th season he's one of eight father-son combos in MLS history with his son Jack de Vries poised to make his MLS debut with the Philadelphia Union.

While things continue to unfold in the Orlando bubble, we preview the Union's chances in the MLS is Back Tournament. We are super excited to talk some soccer again with the likeliness that there will actually be MLS games to watch in just a few days. The first half of the episode is dedicated to what we hope to see from the Union and certain players in the tournament, from break out players to possible position battles. The second half, we get into the tournament as a whole and pick who we think will get out of each group with a *big* prize on the line. We also preview the Union v. NYCFC game that will happen bright and early on July 9th (hopefully).

Very little Union-related news has happened since the last time we recorded which means this podcast got very weird. We discuss the NBA's Orlando accommodations and see how it compares to MLS. Also since Premier League is getting "walk-up" songs for their players, AJ found songs fit for each Union player as well as some opponents. In the second half, we take part in SB Nation's theme week, video game week, and pitch our failed video games to each other and it... well it goes about how you'd expect it to go.

It finally happened, MLS has returned with a tournament in Orlando to make due with ongoing circumstances regarding COVID-19. While it is weird and certain details are unclear, we love that we get to talk Union soccer once again. We discuss the group drawings and how we feel about the Union's group, other groups that might be interesting, as well as trying to put this tournament in perspective among other MLS competitions. We are rusty but it was fun to get into some soccer discussion that we have missed for so long. Enjoy!
