In this episode we drink a 78 year-old wine! It’s a 1945 Penfolds Grandfather Port, Barossa Valley, South Australia (@PenfoldsEST1844). Our very close friend Nishant dropped by for this special episode to share a Port that his late-father handed down to him. It was special for the taste, it was special to celebrate his father, and it was special to create a new memory with friends. Trent also tries some special wine pairings with the Port - a Pasteis de nata (Portuguese Tart from Sweet Belem), and Gorgonzola Dolce (Blue Cheese).
In the episode Jason also shares his thoughts on the binding power of wine, Trent shares his memories of Porto and explains what port is. Jason also shares a recent wine he tried which was a 2023 Pinot Grigio, Artemis Wines, Southern Highlands, NSW.
