Drivetime with DeRusha

Minnesota's Senior Senator has started doing press conferences and interviews as she campaigns for Governor. Is the GOP cooked in this race? Or will their "Tim Walz 2.0" strategy stick? Jason talks with listeners.

This week, we're checking in on the fate of the nickel. Is it on track to disappear just like the penny? Then, we’re headed to a Rainforest Café to hear about a surprise visitor who appeared in its crocodile pool.

From there, we’re going to look in how to book a hot tub boat this summer – yeah that’s a boat with a hot tub on it. After that, we’ll end the show in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s garage. Now, that’s not where you park, but where you can personally rock out on instruments tucked away on the second floor of the museum.

On Friday's Drivetime with DeRusha...

3pm Hour: two legislators were stopped for DWI - that's a problem. But the pontificating at the Capitol as though having a drink with lunch is a serious sin has Jason a little befuddled. He talks with listeners. Then Chris Hine from the Star Tribune joins the show to talk about the Timberwolves closing out the Nuggets in Game 6!

4pm Hour: Jason hosts another exciting edition of his game show as Jerry and Sarah battle for a $50 gift card to Jester Concepts restaurants on Card DeSharks! Then Rep. Kristin Robbins joins the show to talk about why she suspended her gubernatorial campaign and her concerns about the race.

5pm Hour: Jason revisits a topic in which apparently he's on an island - is having a drink at lunch during a workday completely unacceptable? What if you're a legislator? He talks with listeners. Then he tries to talk with Dan Hayes about the Twins, but is stymied by a bad cell connection. So about Louie Varland and that bullpen.....

Jason talks Twins baseball with Dan Hayes from The Athletic every Friday. Unfortunately our phone connection wasn't great, so Jason and producer Dan Cook talk about Louie Varland's return with Toronto, the inconsistency of the bullpen and owner Tom Pohlad.

Jason was so stunned by the reaction earlier in the show, he had to bring the topic back for the 5pm audience - should having a beer at lunch be verboten for legislators? Are some jobs where it's obvious that drinking is a bad idea different than other jobs, or should we treat everything the same?
