Dan Hayes joins Drivetime every Friday and today it’s a special Dan fully loaded edition. Cook asks if he’s surprised at how well the Twins have performed early in this season. The Dans parse through some of the trends that help explain their strong start. Hayes speaks to the buy in he’s seen from certain players and what opposing managers have noticed about the club. Cook asks how much credit should be given to new manager Derek Shelton.

Jess Myers covers the Minnesota Wild for the Pioneer Press. The Wild are slated to face the Dallas Stars in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Jess and Dan talk about a video the Stars put out on social media about the shared history of the two franchises. Jess also breaks down the big news of the day… Jesper Wallstedt will tend the crease in game 1.

In their second segment Dan and Jess talk about the pressure on the Wild/this iteration of the team to make it out of the first round.

To open the show, Dan and Lindsey start with a conversation about the local economy and how it's being affected by people cutting back on leisure spending. They chat with the listeners about how they’re cutting back.

Rep. Emma Greenman (DFL, District 63B) and Rep. Drew Roach (R, District 58B) from the Minnesota Legislature stop by to talk about their bipartisan bill targeting Non-Disclosure Agreements that they’ve co-authored. Dan asks about what the bill would do, what detractors are saying in opposition and the support they’ve rallied from both sides of the aisle.

Lindsey and Dan wrap the hour with a report of a Nutella shortage in at least one store.
