Eagle, MD, MACC, talks with Philippe Gabriel Steg, MD, FACC, and Payal Kohli, MD, FACC, about four of the major trials that were presented on Day 2 of the ESC Congress in Amsterdam on Saturday, Aug. 26. The trials include ECLS-SHOCK (0:44) that investigates extracorporeal life support in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, CLEAR-Outcomes (03:34), looking at bempedoic acid and cardiovascular outcomes in statin-intolerant patients, STOPDAPT 3 (06:33) exploring the benefit of the prasugrel monotherapy without aspirin as compared with the 1-month dual therapy with aspirin and prasugrel in terms of reducing bleeding events after PCI using cobalt-chromium everolimus-eluting stents in patients with high bleeding risk or acute coronary syndrome patients, and FIRE (09:47) studying functional vs. culprit-only revascularization in elderly patients with myocardial infarction and multivessel disease.
