This week's View examines the relationship between clinically assessed left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction and survival in a large, heterogeneous clinical cohort, how a focused cardiac ultrasound performs in comparison to clinical assessment alone for diagnosis of LV systolic dysfunction and valvular heart disease, and the efficacy and safety of oral labetalol, nifedipine, and methyldopa for the management of severe hypertension in pregnancy.
