How to choose your healthcare wisely and become responsible for your wellbeing choices.
Alex is a State Registered Paramedic with over 16 years front-line NHS experience. He became interested in Chinese Medicine in the early 1980’s through his Martial Arts teacher, where he learned Namikoshi Shiatsu and continued his studies at the European Shiatsu School.
Continuing his studies gaining a degree in Acupuncture and the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM), Reading.
After which he undertook a year long postgraduate diploma in Tuina Chinese Massage and medical Qi Gong.
Between 2008 and 2013, Alex undertook numerous month-long study trips to China to study Classical Acupuncture and Applied Channel Theory under Professor Wang. It was during this period he finally left the NHS to focus on his clinic, further study and teaching.
Alex is currently on the faculty at CICM where he teaches conventional medicine and at The City College of Acupuncture, where he teaches Tuina.
Alex has a passion in the integration of Western and Classical Chinese Medicine, with a special interest in reduction of pain and the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. He talks with us here of his journey in East and Western medicine and shares salient points on:

How the old Masters of the original Chinese Medicine offer training for the new doctors to enable their skills to be added to the current methods of teaching.
