This webcast will discuss Elder Abuse and Neglect. Learners should be able to identify the different types of elder abuse and develop a plan to address concerns. The program will discuss the vulnerability of the elderly population as it pertains to elder abuse and the existence of elder abuse in its many forms. It will also cover how medical professionals assess for and report elder abuse. Participants will also learn about types of elder abuse/neglect; the difference between neglect vs self-neglect; the process for submitting a Adult Protective Services (APS) referral; and various community resources available to elderly patients.
