This love letter to Black Women explores the colonisation of Black Caribbean Women as the subconscious and coerced conformity to white standards and norms; the gradual loss of self through linguicide, negotiating hairstyles, consumption of white knowledge, and performing to the pressures of the White gaze for the sake of gaining privilege.

Dr Knox outlines the journey of actively dismantling the psychological, affective, and material impact of colonization, through to finding a space of authenticity and accessing the fullness of yourself.
