  • Meditate Your Way to Success, with Michael Atma

Michael Atma is a bestselling author, business owner, and freedom coach.

After rising from the ashes following his battle with low self-esteem and self-destruction, he has dedicated his life to mindfulness and leading others into present living.

In his own words, “Everything about you is okay if you don’t judge it. Just for today, give yourself permission to think, say, and do what's authentic for you. Life is but a blink of an eye so why waste time trying to please others or do what's expected by the crowd. Instead, please yourself and do what’s right for you. This is how we walk a path of self-mastery one aligned action step at a time.”

Michael’s life-transforming program Pathcutters provides programs and learning experiences designed for anyone ready to step into their greatness. Several courses offered in Michael’s program are:

    • Evolve Academy

-Meditations and Breathwork Coach and Instructor Training

    • Integrate Group Coaching

-A Monthly Mentor Program to Free Your Mind and Unleash Your Spirit

    • I am Enough Program

    -An 8 Week Activation Program

    • Meditation Mastery

    • The Awakening Retreat

-7 Days of Embodied Life-Changing Processes & Deepening Bliss

    • The Manifesting Retreat

-Discover how to Manifest your Dream life in just Three Days

Michaels work focuses on mindfulness and bringing people to their present moment in their body.

His book,  Master your Mindspace details strategies in which living in the now can be attained. Michael says, “It's how we give away some of our present moment about worrying about what other people think. If you still care about what other people think, then the mindful thing to do is just acknowledge that. If other people's opinions or what they think about you matter then just the awareness of that matters. Do I continue to worry about what other people think and continue to worry or do I perhaps stretch a little and wear a pink hat, or a tutu, or talk in a high voice today? It's really hard to jump off a cliff and get it all in one hit. Eventually, your boundaries start to get a little bit bigger and a little bit more open. I’m just projecting onto them and it has everything to do with my insecurities. It's about wanting to and being ready and willing to stretch those one moment at a time”

  • The "She Is" Project, with Dr Anjali Kanojia and Dr Ryan Baidya

Dr. Ryan Baidya and Dr. Anjali Kanojia are authors of the upcoming book, She Is...

Although it has not yet been released, their book looks into the abuses of women from all walks of life and expresses their silenced voices through storytelling and vivid illustrations from a friend who is an artist in India.

Much of Anjali’s perspective is cultivated in her devout practice of yoga. She shared, “What we see as something alternative is mainstream for many people in the world. That is yoga including meditation. Many people think that yoga is just a physical-based exercise, and it’s not. We know that there are tons of scientific-based studies which have shown the impact of yoga therapies on people. Whether it be cancer patients or stroke patients. All of that combined is what the world knows as yoga. I think it helps tremendously and my role is to make sure that we bring the correct form to light.

Both Ryan and Anjali share humanitarian beliefs and the positive progression of mankind. Professor Baidya has worked extensively in Biopharma. These days, he mainly acts as a mentor for start-up companies in Silicon Valley and Japan. He thinks that some entrepreneurs do indeed have a higher vision for changing the world through innovation.

Much of our conversation focused on Ryan and Anjali’s work on their book, She Is. The project memorializes the experiences and suffering of women in the present time. The suffering has been going on for a long time. They mentioned the bravery and courage of the women they worked within coming out and sharing their voices. Anjali says, “Bringing in aspects about female empowerment and harmony, understanding that each of us has feminine and masculine characteristics. Bringing in the thought that things did not always use to be so bad for women. Women were always revered as goddesses. What happened over time?” Their works focus on the difficulty of the story and sharing these female voices while still providing some sort of positive outlook.

They shared quite a touching story surrounding the journey of their dear artist friend in India and his illustrative homage to women. The man who would later become an amazing artist became homeless in Indian in the late ’80s. He was starving and lost his will to live. The working women picked him up and took him to their house and fed him. The women of the night took this man in and helped him regain his livelihood. In an ode to the charitable women that helped him years ago, he uses paper to craft empowering examples of women.

Anjali referred to Ryan as a mentor at one point during our discussion. His wisdom was very apparent and it was obvious that much of his faith was instilled in the younger generation. Professor Baidya shared, “My view is that we are actually in a very difficult position right now at this moment. Everyone from the young generation to the people in power has to come together and make policy decisions in the US to influence the rest of the world. The younger generation will be the owner of these decisions. The role for the young generation is to speak out now before it is too late.”

Ryan and Anjali make it their mission to inspire change and give their example of doing so by giving a voice to suffering women around the world.

  • Medical practice with a heart, with Dr. Steven Hall

Dr. Steven Hall is a board-certified family practitioner and author who incorporates integrative medicine into his practice. Integrative medicine is practicing medicine in a way that selectively incorporates elements of complementary and alternative medicine into comprehensive treatment plans alongside solidly orthodox methods of diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Hall focuses on activating the mind, body, and spirit to treat the whole person.

Dr. Hall is interested not only in the content of science, but also the process of, “how is it what we think we know is really true?” Dr. Hall says, “One of the most unscientific things that scientists can do is discard the data that doesn't fit the model. At first, I thought well maybe alternative medicine has some good answers. Along the way, I started studying bodywork. I had also studied clinical hypnosis.” Dr. Hall aims to connect the unconscious mind with the conscious mind to allow each patient to communicate with their pain centers.

In his book, The 7 Tools of Healing, he focuses on unlocking your inner wisdom and living the life your soul desires. In his own words, “As people would get in touch with their inner wisdom, as it would take over their own life, you see a part of yourself that you want to change. As you force it to change you get resistance. When you practice a skill you get better at it. These are the 7 tools of healing.” The 7 tools of healing are as follows:

    • Faith
    • Awareness
    • Acceptance
    • Compassion
    • Forgiveness
    • Gratitude
    • Right action

Acceptance is considered the most important skill of all. Dr. Hall says, “we want our truth to be a certain way, so whenever we try to see our truth right now we try to fix it or change it. That makes us violate a law of consciousness. Acceptance is so important because you really can’t change until you accept the way you are. If you look at how consciousness works that’s your creative power and that’s what allows us to create things. Creativity flows where you focus your intention.”

Our discussion shined a light on inner wisdom and admitting your moment right now. The importance of being kind to ourselves at that moment and possessing the mindfulness to be aware enough of our emotional and physical state. Our beliefs quite literally determine how we physically respond to situations.

  • Transformative Leadership, with Matt Rosenthal

Matt Rosenthal is the CEO of Mindcore Technologies and a spiritual leader. Higher purpose, value, and SQ (spiritual intelligence) are all a part of Matt’s skillset.

Growing up in what he deemed unusual circumstances, Matt's father passed away when he was 12. He came from an impoverished upbringing that inspired him to rise above and become successful. Along the way, he discovered that he had an inherent entrepreneurial side that he had never been aware of. Matt says, “I always had a tremendous amount of creativity. My journey was a traumatic childhood and figuring out how to survive along the way.”

Matt describes the countless mistakes he made in life, giving him the wisdom that he carries today. He detailed his spiritual awakening taking place by accident. Matt says, “I fell into it. I always felt like I had ideas and I wanted to make money. I was an engineer, and I was very technical, so I started doing side work for people. It began to build up.”

Matt found an incredible amount of stimulation and confidence in his passion for IT. He was working outside of the corporate environment, problem-solving within IT, and soon discovered that this was his dream. The creativity invoking challenges that he faced servicing clients in his side work paved the way towards his inspiration for current projects like Mindcore. Matt says, “Ultimately, it ended up that I was making 3 times as much with my side business as I was at my regular job. I didn’t have to go through what a lot of people go through which is starting something up. I just ran with it at that point. I was like, I’m never going back to work for anybody.”

Today Matt’s primary focus involves tending to his people in an incredibly loving and authentic way. In Matt's words, “I spend a lot of time coaching and teaching the people that work at my company. To work at my company, you have to share the same belief system. It starts with a belief, and the belief is that we’re all on the ship going the same direction. I spend more time coaching and giving therapy at my company than anything else.”

It’s leadership like Matt’s that creates purpose and evolution of the family tree within companies that we all yearn for today. A leader that bases his most core methodology on finding like-minded think tanks that operate from the same place of care that he does.

He has a brand new podcast, “Dig In” with self-made business people.

  • The Experimental Leader, with Melanie Parish

Melanie Parish is the author of The Experimental Leader, Melanie opens our eyes to the reality of leadership management, and the fact that it’s something far more important than we think.

She has offered our listeners a free e-copy of the book. Go to https://eldigital.experimentalleader.com/the-experimental-leader-digital-book

Melanie is a speaker, consultant, workshop leader, author, and Master Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, in which she received the Prism Award. Melanie has consulted and operated within organizations ranging from a Fortune 50 company to IT start-ups within their first round of funding.

Many of Melanie’s innovations surrounding business outline science and a need for experimentation and data collection.

Melanie says, “When we have a status quo that we want to change, we start to try things and we start to experiment. I’ve noticed in organizations that what happens traditionally with people’s careers is they live and die by ideas. We’ve all been on a team where someone had an idea and they invested a ton of money, but the idea didn’t work out. Then that leader loses credibility in the organization. When we adopt in leadership an experimental culture, we start to think of experimenting in something we all buy into together.”

In today’s corporate environment we are demanding innovation.

    • The beauty of an experiment is playing as you go and deciding how much you want to invest up-front.
    • We’re just trying to prove the concept, and Melanie provides us with practical application.
    • Melanie says, “That explicit awareness that you’ve asked people to spend their lives working for you, for the organization, and to pay attention to what they’re doing and to hold that curiosity deeply about what they’re doing. Then, to help support them to help do their bottleneck so they can do it better.”

Are we truly supporting our upcoming leaders with innovative techniques such as Melanie's?

    • Experimentation in business seems to possess a certain kind of togetherness and risk.
    • A hypothesis that we can all buy into together, and if we fail, the next experiment begins. Ideas like these inspire creativity by informing the corporate audience that this is a process in trial and error rather than immediate gratification.

  • Create Magic at Work, with Amy Lynn Durham

Amy Lynn Durham is a corporate mystic, CEO, and executive coach/founder of Create Magic at Work. She is also the author of Create Magic at Work.

Amy Lynn places emphasis on coaching and leadership development surrounding the 21 traits associated with spiritual intelligence. Her range spans from performance intelligence to where the majority of her leadership development takes place in spiritual intelligence, otherwise known as SQ. Several traits associated with spiritual intelligence include:

    • Self-awareness
    • Spontaneity
    • Being vision-and value-led
    • Holism
    • Compassion

Amy Lynn’s latest book: Create Magic at Work, delves into filling a void for individuals that feel isolated and burnt out from loneliness in the workplace. Vulnerability and connection within a team don’t happen by coincidence, but with intention. She teaches her readers to learn some practical rituals which elevate emotional and spiritual intelligence. Amy Lynn draws parallels between her theories and Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which state that five categories of human needs dictate an individual's behavior: physiological needs, safety needs, love, and belonging needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs.

Amy Lynn seems to have an incredible understanding of the untouched spiritual realm that restrains and stands between leaders and their innovators. She mentions the incessant need for more companies to move away from the financial power ideal, and into connectivity that breeds authenticity within the workplace.

Amy Lynn says, “I was at home doing all of the spiritual growth activities and I was finding that they were really impacting my leadership in the workplace. When I would go to work, I couldn’t figure out a way to combine the two because I was in that competitive corporate space of quotas and answers to the shareholders, all those things. Day by day showing up as your authentic self in any place. You can show up and be your authentic self in any space no matter where you are.”

We are all encapsulated with a burning desire to show up as our authentic selves. According to Amy Lynn, “You have to maintain connection, you can’t be in isolation to coregulate. It’s a ton of inner work to show up as being confident.” It seems that we should all initiate the daily reprieve in heightened self-esteem and working towards being our authentic selves. Just like everything in life, it takes work.

  • Building Business Confidence with the Numbers, with Kathy Svetina

Kathy Svetina is a Financial Puzzle Solver for Women-Owned Businesses, Fractional CFO, and leader in understanding business financials.

Kathy’s consultancy called New Castle Finance helps women understand their finances, make confident decisions, and thrive in business. As a fractional CFO, Kathy uses her extensive skill set to support small businesses by elevating their knowledge in accounting and operating with leadership.

Kathy immigrated from Slovenia to the US at the age of 19 and surprised herself with her ability to integrate. In her words, “I was born and raised in Slovenia, a tiny country of 2 million people. I didn’t really have any dreams of where I wanted to end up. I had an opportunity after finishing high school to study in the US and I took it. I was 19 years old, and I went to a completely new country. I started learning English when I was 15. I’m still kind of surprised that I was able to do that and go into a new culture and new way of thinking so easily.”

Kathy’s strength in overcoming challenges as an immigrant translated into her determinations within the business world. She described her initial approach in working with clients as developing a human connection and simply getting to know them. She said, “as a fractional CFO, I'm not just there to interpret the numbers and help them through it, I’m a little bit of a psychologist as well too. For women, they sometimes struggle with imposter syndrome. How do I grow and take this business to the next level? Can I actually do that?”

Through her financial psychology sessions, Kathy determines the goal for each business and the brand they plan to represent. Kathy described the stark differences regarding accounting and freedom between the corporate world and small businesses. She told us “the greatest and worst things about being your own boss are freedom.” Kathy helps business owners with difficulties like these discover their real identities and operate at their highest potential.

Kathy says, “You have to fake that things will work out. Once you start walking, the path will appear. The most important thing is that you don’t have to have everything figured out. You start walking, by magic, things start appearing. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When I look at my own business now, where I was 2 years ago is a completely different path than I am on right now. The willingness to be uncomfortable and learn is a huge thing in life and business.”

Also, she mentions another of her favorite podcast from Donald Miller, the author of Building a StoryBrand:

  • Live Your Bucket List Now, with Trav Bell

On today's episode, we meet with Trav Bell, "The Bucket List Guy", also known for his motivational speaking, life coaching, and latest book, The Bucketlist Blueprint.

Trav’s mission in life includes “waking people up and getting them to live their soul's purpose.” He describes three different bucket lists that can be used to rocket its user into the 4th dimension: the future bucket list, the reverse bucket list, and the f-it list.

All of us have operated without meaning and purpose at a time in our lives by default, but what would happen if we put some design behind our actions?

Trav says, “It’s helping people live a regret-free life. How a person reverse engineers every aspect of their life to make this stuff come to fruition about the growth of us on this journey towards these self-imposed destinations. More importantly, it’s about the person on the other side, the person we don’t know yet.

“There’s a heap of cool stuff that you want to do, most importantly about the why. If it’s making you emotional and inspiring you to do something that throws it on that bucket list. It’s not a matter of resources but a matter of resourcefulness. You don’t want a could have list or a list of missed opportunities. The bucket list is based on positive psychology and helping people find more meaning and purpose in life.

It’s people like Trav that lead us to the question of, “have I done enough in my life.” This man has taken many different routes in his life, and at one point led a personal training company that brought on thousands of members. He explained, “In the 10 years that I’ve been doing this, it’s woken up so many people and given people real tools to live more meaningful lives.

All of us hope to achieve a more meaningful life. This surely includes forced self-reflection and a greater desire to do things now.
