What is anxiety? Most people will tell you that it's nervousness or worry, but this is not about being a thesaurus--this is about understanding ourselves.
How about resistance and attachment? Do those play a role in anxiety?
Most of all, what about our first experience of separation--the very act of being born and separating from one's mother?

Where does your attention go?
Tony Robbins says that "where attention goes, energy flows."
So how about when you resist something? How about when you resist someone else's opinion and get angry that they said something? Aren't you giving them too much of your energy?
The truth is that attention is a scarce resource, and to take back control of our mind, we need to take back control of where we invest our energy.
How do you do that? Find out in this week's episode.

"Drinking this coffee will bring me riches." The manifestation and law of attraction movement sometimes
gets a bad rap. However, as with most things, there is some truth to it. If we
want to understand the mind, we must understand that a lot of what it does is
outside our control. A lot of our thoughts and feelings are conditioned.
Nonetheless, as homo sapiens, being the intelligent species that we are, we can
exert a strong influence over what we tell ourselves, what images we hold in
our minds, and what expectations we have of ourselves. Once we pay attention to
the parts of our mind that are within our control, the vast machinery of our
mind will do the rest.

Watch out for mental health advice from weak people. A common mistake is to overly focus on stress, the effect of stress on us, etc. A true practitioner of mental health will notice the underlying frame of thinking here, which is that it frames the person as small compared to the world. An ant has to worry about being stepped on by a human. A human, on the other hand, doesn't have to worry about being stepped on by an ant. Far too often, though, we play the ant of the universe, hoping that we don't get stepped on. It's time to end this nonsense and learn some real psychology.
Also in this episode: fascinating segues into upward/downward spirals, tips/tricks for inner confidence, and how to avoid learned helplessness.
