I have been fairly lucky in my life to have had so many great mentors. Truly blessed that I was born into a hunting family and then surrounded by great hunters and great people to help steer me in the right direction. I honestly don’t know why it has taken me so long to share these two gentleman with you all but Walt and Dave along with many others have been a big influence in my life and I could listen to these old timers tell hunting stories for hours, reminiscing about the good old days. These guys have been giving me hell for shooting a wheel bow for years. I’ll never forget Walt was putting on a local trad bow shoot and I must have been 10 or 12 at the time and was shooting a little compound. As soon as I got there Ol Walt gave me a hard time about that wheel bow and I probably turned beat red. Fast forward 20 years and someone made a comment that the way I was taught and the way was brought into hunting isn’t the same way that so many others are getting into hunting today. Now I don’t view myself as a teacher merely a student, but I want to share with you more of the teachers that started the foundation for me. Listening to old timers enthusiastically tell stories of chasing big bulls and bucks that got away as lit the fire for me over the years and I hope you guys enjoy it as half as much as I do.
