Marcos Lima breaks down how car salesmen and saleswomen can go from recruiting to developing their own brand and social media presence to market themselves to the masses. Managers can’t let the sales team skate by on excuses, but managers also have to change their perspective and remember, “People aren’t disposable.” Listen in for more tips on making your dealership more attractive to potential new employees and strengthening your current sales team.

 

About Marcos Lima

Marcos Lima grew up in Brazil and has been working in the automotive industry pretty much since he moved to Winnipeg, Canada, back in 2015. As a newcomer with a foreign Law Degree, Marcos found it challenging to find a job. Before landing his first job as a salesman for a local pre-owned dealership, after a couple of months of looking around, he worked for a carwash for a few weeks.

Marcos landed his first salesman job and went on to sell over 100 vehicles before he was promoted to Sales Manager in my first year, where he stayed for 3 years. Marcos was then invited to work for Murray Jeep Ram Winnipeg as a Pre-Owned Sales Manager and has been there since May 2018. Marcos recently accepted a post-graduation course with Canadian Dealer Academy that will lay the ground for a future GM position (similar to NADA in the US). Marcos may not be a millionaire yet, but the auto industry has allowed him to go from minimum wage to six figures
