2020 has definitely been a year to remember.   Most of us are saying that we can’t wait to see it go and start 2021 with a clean slate and hope in our hearts.  The not so good memories can overtake everything and leave us discouraged, defeated and wondering “Why even try”.  But we need to examine our lives and realize that we actually have small wins every day.  Actions such as parking farther away, not nibbling on our kids' leftovers or making a list so we don’t forget what we plan to do, may, in the moment feel small and pointless.   But over time, those small wins start to add up and open up work time, save calories or increase accidental movement.  They cause a ripple effect, with one positive action leading to another.

I like to say my wins out loud.   Saying “This is me trying” when I make small healthy decisions during the day is acknowledging a win.  This becomes a tool to promote positive behaviors.

Acknowledging a win helps in the moment, but it is just a first step.  In order to make real lasting changes in your life you need to be consistent, repeat those small actions and continue to acknowledge them.  Professionals agree that any true change comes with thousands of repetitions of an action. You can’t use my tool of “this is me trying” for a day or two and expect results! You have to have consistency throughout the day, week, month and year.

This is part of the “work” you need to do if you want to make changes in your life.

If you struggle with consistency, our new online community, Power House Membership, could be your new happy home! I decided 2021 is the year I’m officially offering the Direction Not Perfection Community a place where we can communicate often, ask questions, hold each other’s feet to the fire, cheer each other on and get the accountability we need.

Enrollment is open until January 3rd for $25/month and then I will be shutting the doors until June. I’m closing the membership and only allowing enrollment twice a year (January and June) because when new members join, I want to dive in and get to know them and make sure everyone feels heard and taken care of! I feel like I need to know you personally in order to help with your individual goals and get everyone up and running!
