Hypnosis.  What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear that word?  For many of you I would bet it is something like seeing a person on stage, quacking, and waddling around like a duck, after staring at a hypnotist swinging a pocket watch.  That is the impression stage shows have embedded in our minds.  Movies would have us believe that someone could be hypnotized and told to commit a crime they would never remember doing.  In reality, those scenarios won’t happen.  The people on stage have not been made to do silly things. They know it is for entertainment and are ready to accept suggestions.  No one will do things under hypnosis that they genuinely would not do, or that goes against their moral code or beliefs, so they can’t be made to rob a bank. The beauty of hypnosis is that it can be used to change your life for the better. 

 

We have all suffered from personal issues that we can’t control no matter how many ways we have tried.  The inability to lose weight,  get a good night’s sleep, quit smoking, stop biting nails, break addictions or calm anxieties can leave us feeling that there is no hope for change.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy have been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958. As a counselor and psychotherapist, Dr Phillip saw so many people who had reached a wall in their therapy that they could not breach.  She realized that they were attaching negative emotions to their issues and their own mind was holding them back.  By using hypnotherapy combined with counseling she helps them to reach a relaxed state where she can get them to access their unconscious mind and use it’s power to make the choices that lead to the results they want to see.  They can detach the negative feelings and emotions and reattach positive suggestions to replace them.  

The conscious mind is bypassed allowing positive changes to be made at a subconscious level, where our beliefs and habits are embedded.
